And can anyone enlighten me as to why they scraped the 32GB option? 16GB is definitely not enough for the camera upgrades alone. Is it?

I think 64 took that slot so they could offer 128 st the top end.

My 16GB is about 50% photos so I'll likely get a 64, that said iOS8 new photo management should alleviate some of that - it seems like a much more sensible way to do cloud photos.

What reduction in resolution? The iPhone 5 is 1136x640 (326 PPI) and the iPhone 6 is 1334×750 (326 PPI). The PPI is the same, 6 just has a slightly bigger screen.

Reduction in resolution from the 4.7" 1080p HTC One I currently have to the 4.7" 1334×750 iPhone 6.

I saw the resolution of the 6+ first and thought wow, Apple are coming into the 21 century and having standard sizes. It appears not.:(

Haters going to hate.

Apple can't compete with Samsung in cutting-edge hardware, and that's no more apparent than the pitiful 8mp camera but I swear some people wouldn't be happy if it had a 4k display and an extendable arm that wipes their ass.

Might want to read my post again, or at least smoke dog should.. :p

EDIT: And there's nothing wrong with an 8MP camera.... It's not a DSLR...

Lol really :D

Well I actually think going with 720p was the right choice, going 1080p would have severely effected the battery life. My main gripe about the screen was them calling it "Retina HD" like it was some kind of evolution in screen technology. :D

That's probably the main reason. I'm just worried it will physically appear a step back from similar sized screens of 1080p.

Because Apples back door plan is for everyone to start using iCloud for storing data. Get people to use iCloud for large files, use up their free GB limit, people would start paying extra for storage and in the long run, Apple will make more money off iCloud storage subscriptions than selling higher GB sized iPhones.

Cloud storage is great, if you never leave the house or coffee shop... For those of us that actually go outdoors it's useless. Unlimited mobile data is rare and as 3G signal is patchy at best (even in London) it still wouldn't be good enough, let alone going out into the country or on the underground.

An example - my commute from the suburbs of London to central London involves an hour tube journey, half of that is underground and about a third of the rest of it I don't get/only get poor 3G signal. That's with houses either side of the train almost the entire way.

But thats so damn stupid. Do they expect everyone to have internet access 24/7? Taking the tube, being on the plane. Hell, even going to the countryside or camping will give you crappy signal. And they want us to store our data on the cloud?
Makes absolutely no sense. Getting more and more angry as I think about the iPhone 6......

Interesting reading some of the hands-on reports - some of the guys are saying they'll be getting the Plus because it makes carrying an iPad Mini obsolete for them, especially given the more iPad-like way it displays certain content.

Manlet with manlet hands though - 6 will be big enough.

sorry, double tap the home button for what? just to bring down the top of the screen to the middle so you can read it easier? wut? did i miss something?

Will these be more crack resistant?

There are at least 6 cracked iPhone screens amongst those I know that have them, but similar instances in other brands. Or are iPhone users just more clumsy? :p

What they've done is classic up-selling.

The majority of people went for the 32GB iPhone 5S, which cost additional £££ over the base 16GB model. By removing the 32GB (which should have been the new base model) they've basically stuck the middle finger up and forced you to buy that upgrade.

Now, you can argue that those people paying extra for 32GB are still having to pay extra for the "middle of the line" model, so what's the issue? I think a lot of people EXPECTED to have a 32GB base model and feel shafted.

Who knows?

It pulls down the entire UI by half the screens length, so that you can still 'reach' all of the screen with one hand (e.g. if you need to tap an icon at the top of the screen). The bigger Android phones have a similar feature IIRC.

The 64GB model is priced similarly to the 5S 32GB on launch.

Having 4 tiers of storage is too much choice on an Apple product. They generally prefer 2 or 3 variants.

Actually looking at that Verve video, the 6 Plus is looking enticing to me, I would like a nice big screen to read text more clearly.... but the flip side is the size of this thing and whether it would fit in my jeans pocket.
