Had a Steelseries Sensei Wireless mouse about July 15th which worked for exactly two weeks. Came to it the next morning and it was dead, totally, no lights nothing at all. The dock would light up when pressing the connect button and would trigger the usb plugged/unplugged noise when taking the usb cable out of the pc. But plugging the cable into the mouse directly would have no efffect, no noise, no hardware detected.

Tried for three days before giving up, made sure it was left on the dock to charge overnight just in case.

Tried Steelseries directly in case there was some magic cure but they just said it was dead and RMA it to Denmark for it to be repaired. Well on a two week old £130 mouse I'm not accepting a repair or sending it to Denmark.

Raised it with OCUK who also offered a RMA to them, but as no more in stock offered a refund, fantastic mouse otherwise so would buy again when in stock or buy elsewhere.

Cost £8 to send back to OCUK for them to test it and it work fine and send it right back to me.

On return it was indeed working fine and has proceeded to do so for another two weeks and this afternoon it has for the second time died.

Anyone else had any problems with one (I know it's a limited audience I'm asking) or any suggestions? Or do I this time just post it back to myself and hope Royal Mail fix it in transit?

Me.

I had one from release. Mine also died, refused to charge and then refused to pair. I had it replaced from the etailer and this one has been ok.

What I will say though is that charging on these is very temperamental and has to be on the dock just so for it to start charging which is my biggest bug bear. I also found their support when emailing them a bit poor if I'm honest.

Needless to say I am thinking of selling this and going back to wired and an optical one at that.

Well would you believe it, plugged it into the pc directly tonight and I've got it back on again

Put it on the charging dock and it's showing red so basically totally flat battery, but it was only fully charged the day before and not much use, and definitely still showing green battery status when it went off.

I'll see how long it lasts this time...

That's pretty dissapointing.

If it is not absolutely essential to be wireless, maybe just switch back to wired.

Although a wired unit may not be as aesthetically pleasing on the desktop, it offers practical benefits (such as not having to worry about charging, for example), in addition to gaming benefits (if you game).

I agree but I always fancied wireless and it's billed as a gaming one with low input lag and high report rate. I have my eye on the new Mionix Castor so may change to that when it's released.

Quick update:

The original RMA to Steelseries expired after 30 days of me not sending it to them and I got an email asking why I'd not sent it. I explained the above and that is was currently working, and not wanting a repair on a brand new expensive device.

I got a reply back saying that even though it was working now it definitely seems to them that it is indeed faulty after going wrong twice and they would be happy to just replace for a new item. So they set up a new RMA for me to send it back. Although this will be postage back to Denmark at my expense.

I asked them if they just wanted the mouse itself or the dock with it and didn't get a reply, that was about 4 days ago, one day after the new RMA was created.

So tonight, I get an email saying they have received my item and it will be tested shortly...

I currently have my hand on the mouse, as I didn't get a reply about what exactly to send back I've not sent anything off yet.

Confidence inspiring

I don't trust wireless mice anymore xD I had a few go bad on me quite quickly and a friend has been using a logitech g602?? I think that's the one well should I say two both died within a month and logitech did replace each time but still I'd rather just have a working mouse

Lol I didn't find them great either. Got a Mionix Avior 7000 on the way. Won't be going wireless again, and certainly not at this price point.

Gets better, had this tonight...

We have confirmed that your replacement product has been added to our latest invoice! This means that our warehouse has all the necessary information available to get your new product out for shipment. Once the product is shipped we will contact you again with a tracking number.

LOL!

To be fair, that means they've decided to action an RMA replacement regardless of whether the old unit was recieved back, and that, most probably, an automatic e-mail has been generated to confirm it (probably).

So, they are helping you quicker than would otherwise have been possible.

I say give them credit for that.

I agree they should have credit for that and although their response seems a bit mish mash it is to their credit if they have sent him a replacement. I don't think he is saying otherwise but the whole experience with their cs can be slow and a bit confused that are the point of the posts.

If thats the case then indeed that quite impressive, but I've posted back that I've not sent anything, and asked again what to post back and nobody is replying after 4-5 days now.

Will see what happens, if I do indeed just get a new on through I'll pop whatever I receive back in the post from my original item :)

As for swapping for something else I actually really like this mouse, got very used to it already so it will definitely be staying.

Now where's that K70 RGB...

Zowie FK1 + Camade if you don't like cable drag :D nothing really beats it at the moment IMO unless the shape/weight isn't for you.
