Hello, I am going to a party on Saturday which has a movie theme with fancy dress encouraged. It's a good friend and I don't want to make no effort (I got some stick for going to Halloween last year as Charles Manson, I look a bit like him so birod a swastika on my slap). That said, I've been in Asia all week and I am in Paris now until tomorrow night and haven't sorted anything out. As such no time to shop / hire.

So what are easy, passable movie themed options? Happy to blue peter something if necessary.

When I say not insulting I mean in terms of lack of effort, rather than insulting people.

I think you should go as Billy Van.

Dress up as optimus prime and drive to the party in yourself!

Or you could do what I did a while back: Buy a cheap suit from a charity shop, burn half of it, smear your missus' dark red/black makeup down one side of your face and scratch up one side of a 50p. Instant two-face for about £10. Just be careful burning the suit because cheap polyester suits burn like a piece of plastic so they can start losing shape.

That would be particularly hilarious since the party is in Brixton and I will need to get from the tube to my pal's house. Some people may not see the funny side.:p

If you can rock a swastika, you can be a minstrel too. This is the land of equal opportunities I've been told.

Never mind, he's not been in any movies as far as I know, so it wouldn't even be on theme...

Go as your friend. That'll freak him out.

Also I you Do a decent enough job and you might get to bone his missus.

My wife's suggested a good one. Joe Buck (the male prostitute / rent boy) from Midnight Cowboy, for reasons I don't quite understand I own a cowboy shirt, stetson and cowboy boots so that could work.

Actually I could lose the shirt and go as Randy from trailer park boys when he is turning tricks. Not sure why that theme is developing, some sort of latent desire to be a rent boy I guess.

That or they'd think he was from Brokeback mountain
