Manchester dogs home in arson attack. Dozens of dogs dead

I live about 200yds from the dogs home, its absolutely sickening reading about this. Judging by the uproar on my facebook news feed, the person responsible will be in for lifetime of hell. I know so.many people who have had dogs from there over the years and it really has been a staple of the community around here. I can only hope that some good comes of this and the dogs home can come back stronger.

Don't feed the troll people.

I'd post the link to the dogs homes just giving page, but it appears to have crashed.

In a horrible way maybe it will do a lot of good... lots more people will donate and possibly with insurance etc they can build much a much better facility. Hopefully the 40 + that died wont have been for nothing.

Thousands of kids are being abused at the hands of non-Muslim people too.

There's a thread about your specific point that you should post in.

So they've caught the guy then? Glad it didn't take long.

I really want to know if he has an "excuse" for this. Here's hoping at least 15 years.

Police have just released a statement. They said a 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson and remains in police custody for questioning.

Superintendent Marcus Noden said: “We are working closely with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to establish how this tragedy has occurred. We are in the very early stages of the investigation and have a young boy in custody, however we would ask if anyone was in the area and remembers seeing anything suspicious around the dogs' home that they call police and tell us what they know.

“As a dog owner myself I understand that many people will feel angry and upset about what has happened, but I would ask that they let the police carry out their investigations and not take matters into their own hands.

“We have received an overwhelming response from the public and would ask if anyone wants to help they can make donations of food or bedding to North Manchester divisional headquarters on Northampton Road in Newton Heath.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

Farming is terrible and cruel and to pretend it isn't is just wrong. I don't eat poultry any more I just can't do it.

But it doesn't make this story any less tragic. I just hope the culprits name gets out. He would be then get his dues

[edited].

I'm trying to say, animal cruelty is all around us and we take it for granted.

25K has been raised so far!

I would think that enough donations to start rebuilding wont take long. :)
