Today has been an absolutely comical disaster for EE's web team. Their lives won't be worth living at the moment! How a company so big can't provide enough cloud computing for a site so huge I have no idea!

I still haven't decided on a case or a SIM plan, but I'm currently on a 1gb data allowance for £15 a month from EE, and I'm using a 4S at the moment, so I'm going to have to order a much smaller SIM card.

I'm on hold with them, but sorely tempted to switch to 3 when they launch their pre-orders

Ohhh, sorry I didn't read your post correctly. What made you think Three (or any contract for that matter) would be anywhere near as cheap as buying outright anyway?

Down right stupidity? :p I didn't mind a £50 - £90 difference that I had worked out based on Samsung S5 monthly pricing but didn't factor in that the iPhone 6 would obviously cost a shed load more.

Quite an obvious trend looking at the pre-order page - nobody wants 16GB or 128GB devices, everybody wants a 64GB (well, everybody probably actually wants a 32GB but have no choice :p). For all iPhone 6 models, it's the same: 3-4 weeks for 64GB, 7-10 business days for the rest. 3-4 weeks for 6 Plus models throughout however.

I never bother with the phone contracts, SIM only. At the 5S launch, the cheapest network (Three) were still £300 more expensive over the course of two years on contract than buying outright and going SIM-only. The 16GB model on contract cost virtually the same as a 64GB model off contract.

Great deals to be had from about 7 months into the lifecycle on some devices though.

I ordered two, one gold and one space grey. My Space grey says preparing to dispatch the gold seems like it will take longer (29th sept -2nd october) estimate.

Got my preorder in...chances are I might cancel it but I wanted one in.

EE over the phone, iPhone 6 64gb in Silver, £38.99 4gb per month on their extra plan (so EU inclusive minutes and "double" speeds". Reason to cancel, the website today has annoyed me somewhat, they charged my £5.99 for delivery and then to be told maybe Friday, but might be the week after.........

Lets see the 3 prices :)

For those waiting for Three...

Plans are as follows (per their customer services phone line) for an iPhone 6 64GB. Knock off £5 a month for 16GB version.

UL mins/UL txt/UL data is £50/month plus £99.
UL mins/UL txt/2GB data is £45/month plus £99.
UL mins/UL txt/1GB data is £43/month plus £99.

They no longer do the 600 mins plans.

For that pricing I've given up and ordered on Apple. Gotta wait til mid-October now :/ Might try the store on the day.

No options to pay more upfront?

I know benchmarks don't really mean much but every time Apple released an iPhone, their PowerVR powered SoC would be king of the benchmarks. Early results show only a marginal increase from the previous generation:

Be interesting to see how the A8 fairs at 1080p.

I fear these iPhone contract prices are going to push up the prices for all the latest handsets now, it seems to happen every year.

If I go for an iPhone I'll definitely be getting a pay monthly sim and buying the phone from Apple. I'm currently paying £36 a month. The same contract with an IP6 would be £50 +£99 upfront. Insane.

As you said probably doesn't mean much but I think from everything I have seen so far suggest it's a worthy upgrade from the current 4S that I have.

Pre-ordered with 3, finally!! Did it over the phone via a lovely helpful lady.

iPhone 6 64GB Silver
600 minutes any network + 300 minutes to 3
All you can eat data
All you can eat text messages
£53 a month, no upfront cost.

I have been putting away the difference between my last contract and my current 1 month rolling sim-only so have around £250 to off-set the monthly costs.
