I won't loose a wink of sleep.

Nor will most people in this thread. Not many will have donated either.

Doesn't stop us from recognising that it was entirely unnecessary and tragic.

Perhaps you'd feel differently if you were the one running the dog sanctuary. If you had spent time, effort, money and invested your heart and sole into giving those dogs a break.

Only to have some 14 year old waste of space set fire to the place and burn it to the ground, dogs and all.

If you genuinely don't see why that would pee a few people off, then there's nothing we can say which will make it make sense to you. You'll just have to realise that we're all weird ;)

Yes it's sad.

Not as sad as the majority of the news I read these days however.

I know where Skodamart is coming from.
In the other thread the OP said "Not much makes me angry, but this does" elevating animals above a lot of other madness in the world.
She's smiling now because they've raised over one million.
Silver linings & clouds and all that.

But you must understand even basic human psychology? Some events in the news are more relatable than others to certain people. Perhaps people who have owned dogs all their life, worked in dog homes, or just generally really love dogs felt strongly about this particular event? That doesn't mean that they are heartless immoral people that don't care about anything else though.

That just means she's a different kind of mental to SkodaMart

people find it easier to sympathize with animals. So they tend to always be treated as innocent victims whereas humans are often considered (rightly or wrongly) partly to blame.

for instance imagine if that thread had been about strangeways catching fire instead and 60 inmates dying. do you think there would be any money raised?

No, I'm not upset about a few unwanted dogs.

A few dogs?

I won't loose a wink of sleep.

Youre not upset that loads of loving, domesticated animals were burned alive in confined spaces? But you are upset that some people are punching cows?

I think the majority would have died of smoke inhalation, as is usually the case in a fire.

because he cant make himself feel superior via the dogs but pretending to give a **** about the cows lets him consider himself above the ordinary evil meat eating folks

A million pounds?

Raised in a few hours.

What's been done about Rotherham?

Also, I eat dairy and wear leather.

I'm far from a paragon of virtue.

I do however get more upset about child abuse scandals than I do about a few unwanted dogs.

what about the millions of child soldiers and victims in Africa every year?

don't see you giving much of a **** about them either.

There are many dreadful things in this world, much worse than a few dogs dying in a arson attack.

Forced female Maasai FGM, being one of those I am aware of.
