I just got an EE upgrade from a website

£89 for the 16GB Silver
then 24 months = £30.99
£832.76 Total for 2 Years

1000mins/Unlimited text/1GB 4G, which is more than I need.

Edit: I also get a free power Bank wireless charger which is going to be useless for me xD

Anyone thinking of going for the 6 from a 4S? It's a chunk of money to part with but my 4S battery and screen size just isn't cutting it anymore!

Yup, but like most who replied I'm also upgrading the the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 6 (regular) out of contract.

I'm actually really happy with the size of the 4, my battery is still great and after removing non-essential apps it's no longer a lag fest on iOS7. I hope this upgrade keeps me happy for just as long, I'd tried the Note 2 and hated it... it's still under contract till next year.

Looking to pull the trigger on a 6 - think I'm best ordering from Apple or chance it in store over the weekend? I can only assume it'll be chaos in there with little to no stock?

I've still got the 4 and I really want to update as it's just become so ridiculously slow and the home button has completely broken (I have to use the on screen accessibility home button thingy.) However as a student I find it hard to justify the cost of the cheapest 6 model. I keep going to order it but seeing £539 just keeps putting me off :(

Have you looked at the Sony z3 compact surely the better option for a student than a 16gb 6, when you've finished your post grad qual you'll be able to buy an apple a month.

This seems very cheap, what was this website?

Anyone else who ordered from CPW had any more emails as yet? Just got another one informing me that my click and collect order has been confirmed and a waiting for it to processed, what ever that exactly means as my order has already been processed.

Ordered from CPW myself I've only had two emails from them one confirming "they'd received an order from me" and the other "accepting the order".

I haven't heard anything else other than the woefully bad CS chats I've posted previously.

No idea what/if anything is going on.

I must say as someone coming from Android, I'm getting worried I might regret the change! Reading reviews of iOS 8 today and it seems like it STILL has a lot of problems and usability errors (notification centre, I'm looking at you!). Also apparently pretty much every cloud service except iCloud is broken at launch? I hear Dropbox/OneDrive/Google Drive have all broken camera sync since the update?
Also wtf is iMessage? I assumed it was a messaging aggregator ala Pidgin but it looks like an iOS only WhatsApp? It's a shame as it's the only thing active notifications work for!

Also things I assumed were 'built in' are not. I kind of assumed Touch ID could be used to secure a folder/app/whatever, but no. Facebook contact sync looks like you need to fart around with a 3rd party app unless they share their number (why can't I manually name link?).

Oh well will wait and see, hoping the camera and build quality make up for missing Androids features.

If the cloud services are broken then it's the developers fault, they had access to ios8 for an age now

iMessage is a bit pointless atm, and even more so when I can send normal text messages from my Mac and iPad with phone in my pocket /general area, but it's decent enough for sending mms it friends with idevices - to someone's ipad for example - although airdrop is superior if your in the same room.

I don't see a problem with notification centre either, it's not perfect but it does a job...
Facebook contact sync - again, out of Apples hands, and I'm not sure why you would want to protect a folder for ? You can enable more comprehensive restrictions for letting children play on it for example.

I also have an iPhone 4 16GB and did a backup and restore last night and it freed up 3GB and now runs a bit more smoothly. Suggest you try that before deciding if you need the upgrade. Might be better to have the home button replaced than replacing the phone.

Am waiting to see some video footage. Not bothered about 4 k recording as i never used it on my note 3, just dont want it to look like its -6 out and thats why its so shakey all the time.

You tend to get that with the first iteration of all ios variants come 8.0.1 majority will be fixed.

This is purely app developers fault, they've had more than enough time with ios 8 to get it running.

Also wtf is iMessage? I assumed it was a messaging aggregator ala Pidgin but it looks like an iOS only WhatsApp? It's a shame as it's the only thing active notifications work for!

iMessage is pretty much what you said data based messaging for ios devices. No texts used unless sending to a non ios device.

Not sure why you'd need to secure a folder but there are some free apps out there that will do this for you.

Give it a month or two after launch and you can jailbreaking it. Get the built in features you want.

It looks good on the iPhone 6 (not plus), and that's with digital stabilisation.
