Something seems amiss here.... Got an iPhone 6 on EE (2GB / 2000 / Unlimited) and since getting it the EE app reckons I've used 1.2 gig already (since Friday), but I've been on Wifi and certainly not done anything of consequence, no video streaming etc...

At that rate even if I go up to 4GB which was the top one on offer its going to last about a week without really doing anything :/

I'm having the exact same issues, the EE app seems to think I have used near on 2GB in a day... I'm so confused.

It's interesting you're saying this. Both my wife and a work colleague have complained of massive usage over the last few months. My wife's on maternity leave and has been spending a lot of time in the house - on wifi - yet has apparently been using all her data.

I've just switched from T-Mob/EE to EE 4G proper, so shall see how it goes.

Couple of the lads at work have reported issues with high data usage (according to EE) on 4G. They're getting billed for double what the counters on the handset (one android, one iPhone) are reporting.

Odd that it's seemingly double. Suggests that something can't count at the EE end. ;)

I'm seriously considering switching to Three because of it, despite my 17GB limit. It's ridiculous... I'm within my cooling off period, and I'll be shot if I'm spending £15p/m extra on bundles because I've used all my data via tethering or something.

Has anyone spoken to EE about it?

Not yet, I've done the same as you and migrated from T-Mobile, but I'm gonna have to make a decision to stay/leave soon as I'm sure as hell not paying any early exit fees.

Just dunno if Three's coverage will be up to scratch around my area.

Its been happening all over the UK. Loads of reports on forums about it. My friend has the same issue.

Was going to call EE to move onto their 4G contract but I will stay on my unlimited 3G for now.

Let me guess. They're sticking their fingers in their ears and mouthing "We can't hear you!" like a five year old?

Sounds like a job for Anne Robinson...

Nothing they does surprises me if I'm honest. An iPhone unlock that would take about a week with any other network they strung out for well over a month, then refused to compensate me for the additional line rental incurred. A mate of mine cancelled before they unlocked it (against my advice) and the unlock never came through and now they won't accept his phone calls as he's no longer a customer.

Don't even get me started on them cynically driving Phones 4U out of business.

Most of the other big phone networks are as bad, and far too arrogant. Best of the bunch appear to be 3, if only because they're cheap for SIM-free deals.

I've just ordered a EE 30 day sim with 5GB of 4G data at £25 p/ month to give it a try. At least this way I can cancel whenever I like if they are getting the data usage wrong.

Funny, my friend said exactly the samething and that's what EE are doing.

He has switched off his mobile data now incase he gets a unexpected high bill.

I'll keep an eye on it. Might be something that needs publicising a bit if needs be.

I had the same issue with EE, apparently I used 1.5gb in 1 day with the phone doing nothing, I rang up and was told they cannot give me a breakdown or prove to me where the data was being used (my phone reported 5mb at most that day). In the end I just gave up and cancelled my contract early and have now gone back to Three.

The funniest reason I got was "we cannot give this information due to data protection", it's my own data though?!

They are a joke of a company and it seems they are doing this to a lot of people.

Is anyone else disappointed with the battery performance of their iPhone 6? After a weekend away with fairly heavy use (trying out some of the new camera features, tethering as normal) the battery is, at best, no better than the 5S. At worst it delivers a poorer performance.

I hope it is just a case of the battery calibrating itself. If not then this is quite disappointing.

All of my EE data was used up on the first day this month.

Due to the way they structure the pricing of their bundles, the only option I had was to buy 10GB for around £15. I usually get by with less than 1GB a month.

Seriously considering moving to a SIM-only plan with GiffGaff. Disappointing, as I've been with them, in their various guises, for over 18 years.

The real kick in the teeth was offering me a 'special' deal on the iPhone 6 16GB of £42 a month plus £100 up front.

Anyone else seeing the reports about the 6 Plus bending if kept in a 'tight' pocket for too long?

A guy on Mac Forums posted a pic here.

I suppose a phone that size made of aluminum will do that but I can see a lot of people getting angry about this!
