How do I play 3D iso and Mkv movies via HTPC on my plasma?

Are you sure you have the correct version of PowerDVD, IIRC... the basic versions do not support 3D... you have to have the ultra versions.

It depends on the style of 3D your plasma supports... most support the H-SBS format most 3D MKV files are encoded with... which basically puts the two images at half resolution next to each other.

Once you have this playing in full screen, you can then select the 3D option on your TV and it will pick it apart and put it back together as a 3D signal.

For 3D ISO... PowerDVD and TMT both work really well, as long as you have the correct version licensed.

I use the same player as Krooton except i use it through XBMC, i have XBMC set to play on 3D ISOs from that as an external player and every other file type through its own player including 3D MKVs.

As it's a MKV I assume it's a SBS (side by side) 3D video? If it is you can play it in any player - just use the same you would for any normal movie. Then just activate SBS 3D mode on your TV and you're done :)

Ok thanks.

I have 4 external hard drives with all my movies on. Once I build my library with xbmc it all works fine, with movies playing.

When I reboot my Htpc my external drives all seem to boot up in a different order and xbmc no longer plays my movies"the file is no longer available"

Any workround?

Do you just have the 1 client (tv) ?

If you want to use it in more than 1 room I'd say switch to Plex, its a far more elegant solution.

Uses the XBMC code but the library is far easier to manage and shouldn't need to rebuild (saying that XBMC shouldn't do that either but give plex a try)
