AMD teasing new product, is it Radeon or FirePro?

Exactly, and the upper GPUs have to serve the dual uses especially.

Didn't Nvidia strip a lot of that stuff out though?
Wasn't it that sort of thing that made the 470/480 run so much hotter and use so much more power than the 5850/5870?
I thought the complaint at the time was that it wasn't needed on a gaming card and just added heat and power draw?

Little birdy tells me that this thing will be able to get very high benchmark scores. And this is a serious little birdy.

I know you just want AMD to come good but your *be cruel to give them a nudge* is very grating after a while.

Not as grating as all the fanboism :p

If it's good I'll buy it, regardless of brand. If it's not good I won't :D, it's that simple for me. Reading some of the comments when people get all bent out of shape between their camps next launch is funny though.

Hope AMD have something decent coming, the more competition the better.

On topic of AMD reveal, I hope we get some news about the next lot of APU's as well. 20nm APU's could have awesome potential, especially with this focus on low power high performance devices, if they can translate that into their APU design, plus have a node shrink. Space for more shading cores etc, could see a nice jump in gaming performance on APU. Only 3 more days to find out..

It's super-obvious who you are talking about, just so you know...

You're not very fun, just so you know...

Be good to see AMD's new stuff ,hopefully its awesome

6 day response to Maxwell is damn good on AMD's part. But for the love of god these better be ready for launch and at least be competitive with Maxwell on power draw.

I wouldnt be surprised if this was just a GHz edition of the 290x, it will be faster but draw a lot of power.

TBH i dont care about the power use so much, Yes its great to see the 900series match or better the 700's with way less power and yes i would like AMD to do more with less but i dont need them to match maxwell on that i'd rather they had more performance

Yea.

As much as I think the new graphic cards from Nvidia is impressive in terms of power-consumption, I'm not very sure if the direction of efficiency over performance they took is the right way to go, especially...you know...graphic cards' performance is already lagging behind the development and progression of monitors resolution.

It's 2014 already and almost into 2015, and we are STILL using 1920 res as the reference benchmark. IMO graphic cards still only able to do 30-40fps in games like Crysis and Metro at only 1920 res is a bit of a joke. All the milking done by the companies over the years have come back to bite us in our rear with the coming of 4K monitors and (more or less affordable).

Why is everyone so worried about power consumption ? This is overclockers...

I want a gpu that comes with its own psu....:)

I want 2 powerful cards that overclock like monsters in order to eat all games at 1600p and are so power efficient that the fans don't even spin up in normal use thereby being able to use it as a silent media machine too.

Oh wait.....

:D
