No one is defending it, they're just not believing the click bait. When someone actually does a scientific test and find a weakness I'm not buying it. Other phones can, and have bent whilst in people's pockets.

Yes, in Apple's simple world.

In the real world there is something called structural engineering and reinforcement. It can be applied to macroscopic and microscopic objects of metals and non-metals. It's everywhere. I mean i just glanced at my Logitech mouse and it has six reinforcement points in the battery cover alone.

Hmm, I've got a 6 and just done a little test.

I put my phone face down on a table, got my debit card which has a perfectly straight edge, and lay it on the back of the phone seeing if the card sat flush or rocked. It does seem like my phone is warped ever so slightly. From top to bottom only about 0.2mm and I don't know if it was like that out of the box or not.

Can anyone else check?

You're right, so why are you confused?

Buildings don't use flat metal beams they use H beams which are still relatively thin. Just by adding a spine you can exponentially increase the rigidity of any material. You are supposed to use the same logic of preventing bending for smaller items. Reinforcement for reducing the ability of a material to bend is a pretty simple yet well researched and established concept.

If you lay the phone on a flat surface face down (so the screen is facing the surface) does it rock a little?

You haven't heard of it because only Apple qualify for clickbait hysteria - a thin metal and glass device will bend if stressed - no one cares if a galaxy whatever breaks.

Are you still happy to keep it in the pocket on teh back of this.

SO you have had it for a few days, what happens in a week or so if it bends, you still jsut happy with it?
 
Time will tell. Saying 'I have an iPhone 6 and mines not bent, therefore the story is rubbish' is as anecdotal as some of the stories claiming it bends under normal usage. The phone has been out less than a week. Give it a few months, then we'll all have a better idea as to how easily the phone bends under normal use - either there will be an uproar or the story will die.

Its not the fact it does it.

Its the low tolerance it takes for it to happen.
 
The S2 wasn't very bendy at all... I had mine for two years and it was still near perfect when I sold it. It was one of the sturdiest phones I have ever owned...

I think I've learned to take most things I read on the internet with a pinch of salt, particularly this sort of ********.

I'm happy with it in my pocket, I'm sure it's not going to bend.
