*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

wonder when the amazon orders will start to ship then? and will they be coming from a sony distribution center like clove's and handtecs? maybe thats why they got such an excellent price
 
Amazon order page states that the phone releases on the 29th and should be delivered on the 30th. My Z3 is delivered by Amazon Prime so "should" arrive on the 30th latest... Hopefully.

Some sort of screen magic I believe. I vaguely remember mention of some sort of memory that reduces the need to refresh the screen constantly but I can't find where I read that so it could just be in my head :)

You're correct...their screen tech essentially memorises certain parts of screens that never change so reduces the load on the screen refresh...it certianly seems like some form of witchcraft but clearly works very well indeed :p

I just wish Amazon would get the phone shipped out asap...can't imagine they would recieve their stock any later than handtec or clove :p

Sony are sending theirs out on the 25th from when I spoke to them this week in regards to cancelling my order...which is done.

Clove have started to send theirs out as well...so I doubt it will be the Z2 all over again.
 
In fairness, they did say the Z3/Z3c are launching on 26/9 in the UK, so it's not like they're late. The 26th would usually be the day retailers get stock, not the day the handset is delivered to the customer. At this stage, it looks highly likely a lot of people will have the handset this week, which is good going.

Are clove and handtec reliable sites? I'm asking because Amazon have this phone for £430 and these sites have it for £350...how do they have it so much cheaper?

Amazon had it for £291 + £10 Amazon voucher so I wouldn't worry about how cheap it's seems on clove/handtec!
 
Do these actually need screen protectors or are the screens made of gorilla glass or similar? Never needed a screen protector on my iPhone 4 and that's years old with no scratches.

Both front and back are gorilla glass. So you expect similar results to your iphone 4.
 
I was set on an iphone until started reading about the Z3C. This is surely looking epic. I've never used an android phone before though, that's the only thing I am a little hesitant about.
 
Just got off a chat with Handtec, their warehouse will be receiving stock later on this evening and will be shipping orders out today and tomorrow. So anyone who has placed an order with them should have their shiny new Z3c by the weekend.
