Still can't decide which to go for, the plus seems overly large compared to other phones in the category but I think I will want the bigger screen if I go for the smaller one, guess I could always change if the plus is too much. Pity it is not a better looking product really, compared the HTC One for example.

Just been told of a possible F&F discount from a friend at EE. Holding onto my order at the Apple store for now since it states a month off from now. :D It's also cheaper in the long run! :D

I'm with O2. I got the IP6 16GB for 29.99 up front and £43 a month with unlimited calls / texts and 2GB data a month (I am not a heavy data user when I am out and about). The EE equivalent was £100 up front for the same kind of package!

O2 got me the phone by 09:30 on release day too! :) Still waiting for their flip case and charger bundle though :( But I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth! lol :D

I suppose it is horse for courses, but I am happy with my contract.

Your deal works out at £1062 over the term so paying £100 upfront is actually cheaper (by a whole £2) :p

i got mine on F&F discount, they wasnt supposed too but EE made a mistake and had to honour it.

i paid £79 up front and got the £54 monthly deal for £31, with 20gb data etc.

sweet deal!

I got 2 with F&F from EE delivered on release day. First person I spoke to stated the the iP6 isn't available to F&F customers, second person put the orders through no fuss.

Haven't had the best of times with my iPhone 6 to be fair  I've found the signal to be very hit and miss - I don't get 3g where I used to with my 5 and sometimes not even gprs or E. It constantly drops certain wifi (work is no good but home is ok) and it will not work with my in car handsfree at all. I've noticed there are a lot of people in the same situation and I know apple are working on fixes for all of the above but the nightmares people are having with 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 make me a little wary of updating till I know their own issues are sorted.

Just hope they sort things out soon because the phone, other than the above, is fantastic. :D

So my battery life is pretty meh, I'm actual pretty dubious that it was actually 6hours usage. The app store usage is from downloading tube map, city mapper and snapchat. Snapchat usage is sending maybe 10-15images. Streamed around 40mins of spotify.

This isn't just from 100%, it is including the time before I reached 100% since at that point in time I had only had the iPhone for 20hours all together (opened at 2am the night before then charged to full and unplugged at 10am that day so about 10hours standby at the max at that point).

Right now I have been really trying to limit what I'm doing on the device and its at 75% and 2hours usage~.

Using my Plus this last week has made me think - phones have gotten bigger and tablets have gotten smaller, and now they've kind of met in this 'phablet' (pah!) land. I don't feel like I need to take my iPad Air out any more (although iPhone apps need to now take advantage of the screen estate of the Plus in particular) and I expect even more iPad Mini owners feel the same way. I keep it for sofa/bed use and it certainly has it's uses.

The above being the case, these iPad 'Pro' rumours about a bigger device are kind of tempting because I wouldn't mind an iPad with a screen as big as a small MBP, given the need to take an iPad out and about have diminished.

Sounds like an issue with the backlight?

I just called about my dead pixel and they're sending a retail boxed replacement phone, complete with accessories.

Yeah definitely a backlight issue if it is an issue, but i keep looking at it and thinking it's fine then opening an app and thinking it looks darker lol.

Do they do a swapout, courier arrives with a phone and takes your one?

Yes, UPS (usually) will arrive to collect your phone and they will send you a new phone either with the same courier (direct swap) or at a later date.

In my experience, even when they state 3-5 days they almost always do a direct swap on the spot.

Just noticed a dead pixel.. :( Just on the phone to 3 now for a replacement.

Edit: Doorstep replacement happening on Monday :) Can't argue with that.

How is this even possible.

O2 take the actual **** I'm having to wait 2 weeks atleast to get my first handset ordered 2 days before release.

Just a heads up guys, don't just accept the sim-only prices that you see on the net... I rang EE up today (still within the 14 days of course) to discuss the data limits and after a discussion and some wrangling I've ended up on a pretty good deal: 20GB, Unlimited, Unlimited, 08 numbers included, £24.99 - Not bad eh
