I know your trolling but there is hand off features on chromebook + Android, it matters less since chromebook lol, but it won't be long before its ported to chrome then totally engulfs everything. At the same time there is a list a mile long for each way, theres a lot of features unique to each OS and only the best features go cross platform.
I picked up a 6+ today having owned the 6 since launch day. I'm struggling to decide which to keep and which to return, they're both great phones but both have their pros and cons (as I'm sure has been said countless times in reviews). I have until Friday to decide, but so far in my opinion:
6+ pros:
- Obvious one, screen size. Things like safari fit more on screen and small web fonts are more easily read without zooming. Apps that have been updated look excellent with far less scrolling required in general. Talking of the screen though the viewing angles and contrast seem just the tiniest amount worse than the 6.
- Battery life seems to be around 150% of the 6 based on my one days testing.
- Videos and games are far more enjoyable on the big screen,
- OIS, although as below I've found no noticeable difference yet.
6+ cons:
- Most scaled apps look really bad. Noticeably worse than the 6 which doesn't have to 'scale' as far. Hopefully this problem will eventually go away, but I'm sure there are apps that will never be updated or that will take forever, this seemed to happen when the 5 was launched too.
- Interface lag. It definitely suffers more than the 6 here. 90% of the time there is no lag on either, but then the majority of my apps are yet to be updated to run at native resolutions. When this happens, it could become more of an issue. The 6 runs the same image resources as the older retina devices (4S/5/5S etc; @2x images). whereas the 6+ loads @3x resources. As the 6 & 6+ are running the same CPU and GPU, the plus has to work harder not only to drive the higher pixel count on the screen, but with increased asset sizes too. To compound the issue, display output is actually rendered at 1242x2208 rather than 1080x1920 and then downscaled.
- One handed use can be difficult. The 6 is relatively easy to use one handed.
- 'Pocketability'....
6 pros / cons are of course a mirror of the above.
Other ramblings:
I find the 6+ landscape mode within apps like mail, messages, notes etc useless. Honestly does anyone type on that god awful landscape keyboard?!
I tried but am yet to find any difference between the 6&6+ cameras, despite the OIS. I took a bunch of photos in low light and they both do a reasonable job there was no noticeable difference really.
Both are a good upgrade from my current 5S. The 6+ looks comically large next to a 4S......

BOOM! Nail on the head! You've listed the exact issues which I had experienced with the Note 2:
- never thought about the drain on resource caused by the increase pixel density. Given that these puppies slow down after 2 years it's best to eliminate all potential slow down factors.
- couldn't use my Note 2 one handed, initially I was fine with that but after four months I hated it
- Note 2 landscape keyboard was dreadful too and moving back to the iPhone 4 keyboard in landscape was glorious

Its not the pixels that causes the lag the 6+ doesn't have a high enough screen to render everything properly. It runs at 1242 × 2208 while the display is 1080p so it needs to downscale. So not only does it run 3x (414 × 736) which is already a weird number, it also has to downscale everything by 1.15, which is a lot more computation overhead. Compared to the iPhone 6 that just runs at 2x (375 × 667) with similar GPU its going to be a lot faster. If it was a perfect 3x then it would be a lot smoother.
The 6+ is a gen 1 device to be honest, running at 3x is really not ideal, a 1px line will run at 3x meaning is not even, then its downscaled by 1.15px so its all blurry and messed up. the 400+ppi helps to mask it but as a designer it sucks. The end game is going to be a 4x display, which will likely be ready in 2 years.
This sucks, ah well, try again tomorrow !

Try at various times of the day too. Different stores update throughout the day. I reserved mine in Southampton around 10:30am.
I refreshed http://iphone6stockchecker.com every hour or so. You'll notice batches come in during the day.

Went to bed on 20% yesterday, my HTC One m7 would have been on 45-50%.
Whatsapp seems to be the main killer, I lose 1-2%% every 5 messages or so. Streaming with google music is terribly inefficient (lost about 8% with 30mins of streaming).
I would have expected it to be at least on par with my m7.
Anyone else having these problems? Is it worth exchanging?

Money, its much cheaper to get a 1080p panel, if my understand is correct the iPhone 6 can use the same panel as the 5 since its the same ppi and quiet literally cut to a bigger shape so manufacturing it is a lot cheaper, so thats why they have stuck with their weird resolution. Have to remember that the reasons Tim Cook is incharge is cause his amazing at manufacturing and this is what his best at.
My guess is in 2 years the 7+ will have a real 4x resolution without any hackery to get it rendering properly. Also most people won't notice it, but when you scroll if you look at a 1px line you can see it getting all jagged it, as someone whos always focused on how things look is bad, but 99.999% its not an issue.

I think apple needs to do something about people ordering one of each phone then returning one....... I am not getting one so not my issue but that kind of retail behavior sucks IMO......your cutting the chances of someone else getting one by 50%, also apple will now have to restock and sell millions of phones.
I think apple should get demo models out to all apple stores, and all brands of every phone shop (still non in my local phones store).......something like a week before release.........this way people can decide what model they want and stop this double ordering business, if I was buying one and they were out of stock, id be looking at the thousands of people using 2 for a few days then sending one back with very annoyed look on my face.
