iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

Yeah it got bent within a day or two of having it. It's not bent longways like the videos, but diagonally from corner to corner. Guess it's the angle it sits in my pocket.

It's just getting worse now as its in my pocket all day walking around on holiday so I guess more prolonged stress?

I'm surprised the trolls haven't tried to convince you you're making it up but as far as I know Apple will just issue you a replacement.

If you do get it replaced you'll probably need a case.

The only trolls here are folks like you ^ mate, desperate to get in another dig where ever possible then step back with an 'I didn't do anything' face in hope that you can twist a response into fanboy status.

Chris, it sounds like the phones which are bending naturally are doing so in the exact manner that you've described. The 6+ bend is diagonal in line with the protruding camera lens, is that the same with yours? Do you have the 6 plus or the regular 6?

This is quite the amusing thread to read.

My own experience - we have two iPhone 6+ devices in work, both are showing signs of very minor bending with regular use. Concerning thing is that they are only a week old. No such problems with our other company mobiles, including a couple of Note 3 and various Lumia WP mobiles.

Regardless of what anyone is saying and what motives the YouTubers have, this is a problem in experience and we aren't buying any more 6+ devices. No issues at all with the regular 6 (and we have a lot more of those)

That is a worry, if we're seeing bends so early then where will it stop and could it lead to:
- screen failure
- glass damage
- seal cracks effecting moisture and dust entry
- battery damage

It was only a few posts ago you were claiming there's no fanboys here so it's kinda hard to take what you're saying as a balanced viewpoint.

Regardless the thread is full of posts you could easily pull apart on either side of the argument, don't berate me just because I answered the previous posters question and I have a low opinion of posters who care so much about a phone/company they're prepared to overlook a potentially serious problem.

Nope I didn't say that... nice twist attempt though! Oh and a very nice attempt to deny trolling and hence backing away with the "I didn't do anything" face.

Anyway, not feeding this troll anymore.

Get them swapped for new units and see how you get on. We have had a few at work since launch and have zero issues. Great device IMO so worth giving it another go.

What's the iffical word on this now? Mines getting pretty bad as I've been walking around a lot on holiday, plan on returning it to an Apple Store when I get home next week. It's a bit of a joke on a £700 device but if it's covered by the manufacturer I don't mind.

Ditto

Seriously these retards and yes I mean retards going about bending their phones and posting it on you tube are a complete joke, these people that have their phones bending in their pocket which pocket in particular would that be cause I'm pretty sure if I just dumped £600 on a phone I sure as hell wouldn't be sitting on it!

Ignore the videos going around of phones being bent massively by the volume buttons. Apart from click bait AFAIK as I have seen no one has suffered bends like that through normal use. The real 'bendgate' seems to be, like Chris has above, where it is bending diagonally through normal use. Most people are reporting keeping it in a front pocket of trousers so it isn't like there is the force of someone sitting on it.

If they are bending by themselves by maybe thermal distortion or whatever it's called fair enough, bending by normal use I've got my doubts as how much pressure are people putting on their phones to touch a button on a capacitive screen or are they holding it like they're standing in a hurricane.

My 64GB 6+ is due to be delivered tomorrow after a 3 week wait - direct from China.

Can I presume that the current 3-4 week shipping delay on the 6+ direct from Apple is because of this frankly non-issue?

Your exacts words were "You got to love this thread, it contains almost zero actual Apple fanboys and about fifty haters just jabbing in elbows with a smiley. It really is bizarre."

If you're going to lie about something it might be better if you edit your earlier post before doing so or let me guess you're going to go with the I didn't say there are none I said almost zero argument...

I'm planning on buying this outright and selling it after one year to remain up to date with which ever phone takes my fancy.

So the big worry for me is, if some folks are seeing a small diagonal bend this early, could I potentially be left with a terribly distorted phone which no one will touch or will it remain a tiny little bend.

I guess a case would be the safest bet and fair to the buyer but I do hate cases.
