Middle Earth TWIMTBP are NVidia wasting my time and money.

I don't see either AMD or nVidia's name plastered on this game.
I'd say it's the game devs and AMD/nVidia driver 50/50 at fault for this issue. Regardless, if a game support 2 cards in SLi, it should support 4, they shouldn't be lazy about it and just do it properly.

Yer good point fellas, nVidia as far as I know have just sponsored the game and had nothing to do with making it (no GameWorks/PhysX) and maybe I am being a little harsh in my whingeing.

Yesterday I downloaded Middle Earth to see how it ran on my 4 290Xs and it was buggy and total rubbish performance wise with negative scaling on the GPUs.

Today I tried it on my 4 Titans and shock and horror the performance was worse than on my 290Xs, the only good thing I could say about the NVidia cards was it was not glitch riddled but just rotten performance.

My question is when NVidia launch the Maxwell Titans early next year and I buy 4 of them, then try and run a TWIMTBP game and find out it does not run properly are NVidia taking the (put you own words here) out of me.

If NVidia claim a game is a TWIMTBP title, the least they can do is ensure something basic like SLI works properly.

I have not bothered posting any bench figures as it is the difference between very bad indeed and even worse lol.

First, Yes we get it you're rich and constantly remind everyone on every forum site you ever post on at every given chance, No offense dude but give it a rest it's starting to get a little old.

That out of the way have you ever thought the game might not be coded to scale well with many cards ?

I've played it with 2 x 980's at 2160P and the game runs beautifully and was an enjoyable experience.

TWIMTBP has no actual meaning AFAIK. It would be nice if these programs had some clear goals like working SLI at launch etc.

This is the ultimate sin for me, if NVidia put TWIMTBP on the game the very least a user should expect is for it to run properly providing that your hardware meets the minimum requirements.

This as far as i know has never been the case. All it means is they've paid them to put an ad on their game.

Sure nVidia and AMD have had ties with studios to make it one of "their" titles and they shout about it, but this is not the case here.

Yer, it is no different to McDonald's sponsoring the Olympics. I don't expect actually eating McDonald's will help you win a race :D

On my 290 it runs perfect 1440p ultra settings but with the 980 I have to lower Ambient Occlusion to high or it stutters badly....

You are totally wrong I am definitely not rich lol.

If the majority of people agree with you, I will be very happy to not post any mention of CF or SLI setups, not answer any questions about the subject and delete all my bench scores in all the threads I run. I have no desire to bore people if they are not interested.

Over to you.

That is the whole point, NVidia have allowed TWINTBP to be used with this game so the least you should be able to expect is for it to work with their hardware. If anything if this was not the internet we are dealing with, as a marketing tool what they have done comes pretty close to fraud.

Perhaps you could post your 4K results in Gregsters thread and maybe give the 2 way 290s some competition at high resolution.

It is the actual wording of TWIMTBP that is very wrong in that context.

It is a bit like McDonald's inferring the athletes train on their burgers.:D

Don't listen to him Kaap, I love your 4way madness threads. :D

+this is an enthusiast forum, we're lucky to have someone who can do these things for our amusement, shame there aren't more :)

Yeah I agree, Kap you good enough to be able to show scores from both sides.

Above was abit harsh tbh So what if you have money, so what if you can show off what you have. I see him showing off with his Sig :D

So basically we come to the conclusion that

1) This game is poorly optimised (6gb claimed needed for ultra so no **** sherlock)

2) AMD drivers are poor

So same **** different day.
