Windows 10

Nope, they've already said(in the media presentation) charms bar is staying it's just going to evolve. It's just not enabled by default for desktops.
And apparently they are now working on a fix, for those of us who have enabled hot corners.

Fair enough, the impression I got was it would be around in some form for touch users but not for desktop.

Never installed cpuz, use the zip

Nope, not fully working that way either. Program starts up, throws an error out, then works but doesn't show the full amount of info.

Not to worry, I only really have them installed out of habit anyway!

Any win10 users with 4k screens? How is dpi scaling like? Fixed or still crap lol

Not running any 4k screens, but just tried it at work where we run 120dpi (125%) for in house apps, and dpi options are the same as was present in 8.1 (e.g. including per monitor settings)

Windows 10 + Classic Start = Awesomeness

Goodbye New Coke, hello Classic Coke. Speaking as "the man in the street" I might actually pick this one up.

It's day one :D, I'm sure CPUZ will be working soon with a new version.

Tbh considering this is day one, I'm really impressed, everything seems to work fine, and faster than before.

ah. does it scale properly or does it make all the icons/toolbars all weird and wonky?

What res are you using? 1440P @ 125% is perfect, maybe it's your eyes? :p

Installed on my Dell studio 15. Unlike 8 and 8.1 it didn't insist on uninstalling the Synaptics driver for the touchpad meaning I can use the multitouch gestures. The gestures don't seem to work too often within modern apps though

Oh wow. Drained laptop in under two hours, well more like 90 mins.
Not sure what settings power are untill I can get home and turn it on. No more F1 on sky go tonight.

And in a totally shocking and unexpected twist of events, asus xonar drivers don't install.
Brainbit ones work fine.

So, how does one reactivate swiping in the bottom right hand corner with the mouse to bring up the side bar? I don't like pressing win key and c.

The Asus Xonar drivers will install - just don't use the installer. I got mine working by browsing to one of the sub folders and right-click-->install on the .inf file. Works fine now.

Using the win8.1 beta driver btw.

If you need the details, let me know.

I need the control panel, which I get by installing the brain bit drivers.

Hi All

Ive installed windows 10 last night using Virtual box as ive not really used VM before i managed to figure out i needed to install Guest additions so i can use my get the VM to see my GPU, however ive tried to install Nvidia drivers from their website and when it does its compatibility check after ive downloaded them and started to install them it says it cant find the hardware that the drivers support am i doing something wrong?

On the NV website i selected windows 8.1 64-bit and the drivers were 344.11, i want to be able to view the window in a proper resolution :)

Yeah, like I said I only install them straight away on a new install out of habit!

And I agree with your second line, 10 is a very impressive bit of work so far. I just hope that they don't bugger it up from here, it's a long way to the projected release date and plenty of chances to ruin this good thing that they have going....

When you say classic start, you mean classic shell or something else? :)

So BF4 etc runs fine on this?

Classic Start, first thing I do after installing motherboard drivers etc is go straight to Ninite > https://ninite.com/, you can get latest Classic Start from there and everything else you want. You can stack all the software you want and run the installer it does it all for you.

Makes re-formating easy and quick. I prefer Classic Start to all the Windows ones, way more customizable. Works great with Windows 10.

Games work great (:

Currently Windows 10 just looks like Window 8 with a start bar, it's even still running IE11

I know it's only RC but was hoping for a little more

Never heard of that site before, looks interesting, will check it out. :)

I'm soooo tempted to stick this on my PC. That said I have no issues with win8.1 + Classic Shell tbh, decisions, decisions....
