iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

I thought Apple were happily replacing bent phones and, much like the iPhone 5 battery issue, I'd be very surprised if they aren't adjusting the design so factory fresh 6+ models aren't prone to the bend.

Can they do much else if everyone isn't experiencing the same problem?

I would also like to know peoples experience on this. The official VMI says bent enclosures are treated as an out of warranty paid repair. I suspect it will be down to the individual Genius bar tech you meet.

The only thing with a minor redesign or mod, is that it wouldn't take very long for someone to notice and it's a good as admitting that the exiting models in circulation are sub standard. So I imagine any design changes would be on the refresh 6s.

Out of warranty repair... !!! That's disgusting.

I hope this is the corporate 'official word' but in store they're advised to be much more lenient. I haven't seen a single post in here reporting a return refusal.

I wonder how many extra iphones have been sold because of bend gate

None. Nobody's going to say, "Hey, the new iPhone bends! I wasn't interested before, but now I'll definitely buy it!"

You need to stop reading Daniel Eran Dilger - one of the most infantile, dogmatic bloggers on the whole internet. If Tim Cook was caught biting the heads off babies, Dilger would write 2000 words of drivel about how Apple was a victim of a media conspiracy and it was actually a disaster for Samsung.

Apple service is pretty good but it depends on who you get. My missus smashed her iPhone 5 screen. I ran it into the genius bar and they offered a free replacement as a goodwill gesture whilst at the same time a different "genius" was telling another customer with the same issue it would cost £70 to get the screen repaired.

Few friends at work who got them on launch have definitely got a slight bend now.

Putting me off massively switching to an iPhone, it's the last device to switch over too! (already moved to iMac / MBA / iPad!)

So ComputerBild test suggests iPhone 6 is even easier to damage than iPhone 6 Plus at that single point of failure?
