Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I'm the same, just been on it for a couple of hours (nice to have a break from Destiny) and its a tough one, I do enjoy stealth killing Orcs and the combat is fluid but I don't know what's going on.

Like other people when fighting a captain I seem to attract more :/
 
The intro and start of the game was good but after that I just feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over. It really isn't a 9/10 game.
 
I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing either. The map is confusing, no idea where to go next or why. My nemesis screen has a few holes where orcs I've killed haven't been replaced. One Orc has killed me so many times he's level 16 now. The graphics are awful as well, the world is so dull and flat. The orcs look great though.
 
I am not sure I understand the gripes about graphics. It's meant to be Mordor and it looks like I imagine Mordor should. Character models are excellent too.
 
I was saying the same thing to my mate yesterday that it suffers from what a lot of open world games suffer from and that's just not knowing what I should do next.

Doesn't help that like the second on third mission is about 4 zones away almost hinting I should be doing other things first.
 
I'm loving this game I've found out that if you don't execute the captains there's a chance they come back with a few scars and a bit cheesed off

Love how it's essential to gain Intel on their weaknesses before you go after them just got one at the moment who is invulnerable to all kinds off attacks which is a bit concerning
 
Can't wait to play this! Waiting for my new tv though! will order this and the last of us remastered then!

This game does look epic though!
 
I'm loving it. It's has great combat and the graphics are great really for a PS4. I'm not sure why people are moaning about them?!

One thing i don't like is that when i need to kill a captain how many orks come at you. it does make you fight for you life tho :) It's also key to remember the PS4 pad button placement :P lol
 
Yeah! but that said i dont fully understand why people moan about the ps4's graphics anyway i mean i have a high end pc! but hell i love my ps4 fantastic piece of kit for the price and again for the price the graphics are stunning! Killzone was great!

I don't like any of the arguing about " what platforms better " there all great with there own great things!

Think I will return this one for Alien. It's quite good fun but I just do not feel the desire to keep on playing. I love open world games, but this is empty of interest. Shall I stay in this spot and kill 60 million Orcs or should I run over there and kill 60 million Orcs?

No. Actually, I think I will play Dragon Age on my PC. That's what just happened.
 
Was going to buy this today, birthday treat to myself lol, but seems people are mixed on it! I think i might like it

Hit 20 on destiny and not wanted to play since
 
Yeah im not sure what to think really. Only played the first hour but feels like im playing assassins creed again... a franchise I said I would never return to as every game felt the same. Will play more and then see if its worth trading for Alien.
 
This game is great imo and I can see why some have scored it so highly. I can also appreciate it being very Marmite though.

I have taken the free roam approach as soon as I could. Finding out lots about abilities, unlocking the essential skills and finding out how to kill effectively. Got chain stealth killing down to a tee now.

I can see it being problematic if you just jump straight into it and plough through the main missions. The intro to combat really gives nothing away.
 
Been struggling with one particular captain. Hes seemingly been stalking me and appearing everywhere I go and with the numbers I just got overwhelmed. Finally got a mission to kill his sorry ass. Now his heads on a stick:D
