Using the Windows 10 Technical Preview? Microsoft might be watching your every move to help with feedback.. Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks, and your use of those devices, applications and networks. Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data; and application usage. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/57265-Windows-10-TP-Contains-Keylogger

If i'm being perfectly honest i'm not really fussed about it.
I mean at worst they might see some pron, or maybe some zombies being killed or Dead rising 3...

If your testing something, well you kind of have to expect some sort of usage tracking, along with error reports being sent more frequently.

Then again, i'm not a person who wears a tin foil hat, so it doesn't bother me :p

For those of you who are concerned about it, the best option would be not to install Windows 10. :)

Anyone's WIFI connection iffy? I haven't altered any drivers yet. Seems to disconnect intermittently for a few seconds.

No but my Razor mouse and keyboard are occasionally not detected on start up and I have to unplug and replug them. My resolution occasionally changes at start up as well.

So I imagine there is a few niggling driver issues for now, being a technical preview and all.

It's only for the preview, data / feedback collection will not be in the final release. Take off your tin foil hats :p

I never even had to register an email or anything on my fresh install of Windows 10 Preview..

Thing I like about Windows 10.

It's like Windows 8 minus the things I didn't like.

It's faster.

Everything just works.

Snap is much improved with intelligent windows that meet up with other window borders without having to resize.

It boots up incredibly fast, even from a cold boot.

Thing I don't like about Windows 10.

...

Good feedback, some of the moan comments are just ridiculous, most of which can be fixed with the use of this thing called google.

It's a great OS, I've tried both versions. Enterprise is the one I would go for. I'm back on my trusty Windows 7 x64 Enterprise now as I'm not to keen as using the beta a full main OS. The data collection thing is real and so users shouldn't be using this for work stuff etc imho.

I will def make the switch to W10 in it's final version next year, it's a worthy successor to Windows 7 imho.

More about the data collection thing here > http://www.pcworld.com/article/2692...a-collection-carry-over-to-final-version.html

Windows 10 Technical Preview stealthily collects lots of user data and transmits the information to Microsoft, leading some to wonder whether or not the OS will shed these practices once the testing period ends.

If it will run on a phone and tablet that people have just accepted virtually total monitoring you can bet your life that code will stay in for the PC version maybe even with some sort of deal with security agencies and to be honest this may be the price of freedom for descent people nowadays.

Great thanks, tbh I feel that 8.1 is a good o/s - for me I rarely used the start menu anyway and it going wasn't anything.

I do think they rushed the move to "one os for everything" but as long as it's faster then I can get by on the rest - win10 looks good, kinda a sped up lovechild between 7 and 8, if they do end up giving it to 8 users for free, then fantastic, but considering how far away we are from an offical launch then so far so good.

Most things collect data, I remember the big concern with 7 was that it would take your data and if they see anything illegal, then forward it onto the police and shut your system down, think something similar with vista as well - fuss over nothing

I doubt that. If that was the case they would loose most if not all their business customers. How many businesses would update their OS to one that will collect everything they have???

Yes, agree but I'm sure businesses should know not to keep anything precious on a any sort of networked computer anyway.
