Do you class swearing as the norm?

It's just a word, means whatever you want it to mean. The whole idea of swear words is stupid. If it's to create shock, over using them lessens the effect :/

I don't swear in front of the women.

How noble. I swear to anyone who deserves to hear it. Gender doesn't come into it. I usually don't swear in front of anyone, but sometimes you find yourself surrounded by people who do, often women, and so I indulge and join the profanity party. ;)

Personally I think many care far too much about how something is said, as opposed to what is being said.

I find a person with repellent views far more unsavoury than somebody who is palatable overall, but expresses themselves poorly. Swearing is something in the UK we have the ability to do & at times sound somewhat sophisticated. Let's not waste this gift. :p

Not in public, not loudly. If i do swear its justified and usually accompanied with the raised voice aggression :P

So are you saying forum rules are not legitimate ? :D

Legitimate as in conforming to the Rules of this Forum. They are NOT swearwords in disguise. You will see what you want to see.

Say this loud.. 'Wear the fox hat.' What do you hear?

lol. I don't think you're fooling anyone my friend. It was clear what your pun was. I'm betting a mod deletes it. ;)

Then in the interests of fairness they should also remove everything that sounds or looks like a swearword...Where do you draw the line? ;)

Yes i do consider swearing as normal, however there are times where its appropriate and times when it is not.
It depends on whose company i am in, i tailor my vocabulary to the situation.
In work i am known to create entire sentences of swear words(ok maybe a bit of an exaggeration).
At home, really only when i am angry trying to make a point or trying to exaggerate something.
With the parents, even at 30 years only i'd never think about swearing in front of my mother, my father on the other hand thats a different story.

I'm just playing half life 2 at the moment and it's refreshing to not have swear words in a computer game especially the use of the 'C word' in Wolfenstein which I found shockingly offensive and totally needless.

Anyone below 30 it is the way nowadays. I HATE it as I find it disrespectful.

That's the way the countries going and it isn't immigrants or anything... it's the way people have been raised wrong.

I have visited other countries far and near and the culture is SO much better!

I want Britain to be Great again... :'(

Maybe I'm old fashioned.... and I'm only 33 so I'm stuffed...
