Things you dont care for that most others do ! ?

The use, during an argument, of strawman as a verb. I'll accept "You are presenting a strawman" I will not accept "Lolz, you strawmanning me bro?". I have an irrational dislike for the word "strawmanning" in particular.

I need to leave this thread, I'm turning into a grumpy old man.

Are you strawman-ing me bro?

Music, singing in particular.

Makes me cringe, xfactor or bands, I can't stand people trying to prove they can or performing in general.
Have always prefer electronic sounds, and I barely listen to that. I would say I listen to barely any music at all.
If I see people on the street playing the guitar. I have the overwhelming urge to punch them and smash their guitar (I obviously don't)

Watches.

Can't stand the things, feels like someone is holding on to my arm constantly. I'm like a cat with a new collar, just trying to scratch it off. Hence why I haven't worn one since I was about 7 and have tried (stupidly) time and time again.

'time and time again'

Watch Starsuckers for a pretty interesting take on Fame/Celeb culture.

As for sports fans, even though I don't follow any team sport, I understand the base reason for it working. It basically taps in to the tribal nature of human beings.

I don't get the point in making food on a plate look perfect. By the time you have made yourbrice into a perfect bowl shape and arranged your curry so that it look perfect as well and then run you stupid little bit of chilli infused oil or whatever else you want to do with it the food is stone cold. It all turns to gunk when you chew it anyway.

Also reality TV drives me potty, just makes me glad for Netflix at the weekend.

apple products - does the same things as else but more expensive and too much fanboys
anything on channel 5 / itv - its gossip mag tv
football - FOOTBALLLLLL
modern music - "wtf is this noise" etc
social media fads - waterboarding (ice bucket thing) / planking / etc

Cars, same reason as others have already mentioned.

TV, what's the point? Everything you need is available online and you can view it when you want, not when they want.

Social Media, I don't personally care for it or use it much but there are some interesting things going on there. Memes, trends, online mob mentality and other things that shed some light on our psychology.

Jewelry, only wear one item (you can probably guess which).

Celebrities, completetly irrelevant to me as a personal interest but, again, the culture around them is interesting from a psychological point of view.

Spirituality, there is nothing out there so live long and prosper \/.

I think there is evidence that the appearance of food on the plate improves the flavour (in a kind of placebo kind of way) but have to agree that this can be taken too far. Also, +1 for fancy posh food restaurants where they make the food so tiny that you're still hungry afterward  I mean, whyyyyyy?

Pay more, get less.....

Also, +1 for reality TV. I cannot understand why people enjoy it so much

Another one I'm stuggling with is golf.

I like the idea of golf, but it's just so damn hard. I don't see how people are able to spend so much money, year after year, looking like a ****, getting frustrated , fumbling around for their balls in some dyke or rough bush.

It's fine for the ones playing but the ones going to see it can't see the ball unless they watch it on telly. Just as bad as watching poker on tv, got to be the most bring "sport" ever.

'Expensive' Restaurants - Pay a HUGE premium for for a tiny meal that ultimately is cooked by a guy on minimum wage in the name of a millionaire chef who is probably sat at home with his feet up. :D

Bahhhaaahhhaaaaa, take it you've never eaten at a nice restaurant. They certainly at small portions and you won't leave feeling hungry.

Actors, band members and famous people in general. I don't care or know who famous people are, why would I want to sit and read credits etc, why would I read news articles on such people. I really don't care. This makes me odd apparently as I lack general knowledge.

A nice/new every day car. Why? It's a waste of money buy it a few years old save a shed load and don't worry about it. Now a nice weekend car is totally acceptable.

Weddings, why are they so expensive and why do people just pay it. Well actually I know it's the girls dream since a young age, but what a waste, when you can organise a wedding like experience for far cheaper, as long as you don't call it a wedding.

Efour, you actually list some of my main ones.

Pro Football -- A lot of money involved here and just don't understand the fascination with it. Find it generally boring to watch. Also a lot of violence surrounding it.

Flashy wrist watches -- It tells the time, why does it have to cost so much. Suppose it could just be labelled as jewellery, just for showing off purposes? Not for me, I'm far from vain.

Expensive restaurants -- I've had some great food and service from cheap and average restaurants. Don't understand the fascination with expensive restaurants, especially when you get to the point where you have to book well in advance.

Weddings -- Expensive day which i don't feel is important really. I'm all for having a day to "tie-the-knot" but why do people spend so much money on it?

Pop music -- 95% manufactured samey-crud churned out for the masses with a catchy tune. It's not really music for me, it lacks emotion, quality and talent.

Pretty much the same for me.
