**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

My thoughts...

Camera: Some very detailed close ups, great colours and editing is easy. Lots of various options and effects.

Note: Responsive and simple, what more could your want? (Have screen shield which increases friction)

Build: Screen is great, feels fine to hold, doesn't feel 'cheap'.

Issues: None yet, I think you would find it awkward if you gave small hands though.

It does feel far nicer in the hand than any other Samsung device and I've owned quite a few.

My o2 account has been updated to show the 5gb of data and the £2 loyalty discount, my number will be ported over on Monday. Next up I've got to try the NHS discount :p

Those using ART mode let me know if you have any issues at all, I'm happy with the device as it is for now, it's very smooth, no lag or stuttering here at all.

Tested a full charge time too - 5% to 100% in ~ 80 mins. Awesome.

And ART should be bug free now I reckon, it's almost been a year since it was available.

When switching from Calvic to ART in the developer options was your phone very hot afterwards? I mean once it had done all the app updating.

Despite my previous assertions that this was too big and that i wanted a smaller phone, i am now considering this. I might go and have a look at one in a shop in a bit.

I have always thought i dont want a big phone but after all three of the Z3 compacts i have been through have had screen issues i have given up on that.

I know im probably just as likely to get one of these with an annoying tint or bad uniformity but oh well :p I do like the idea of having the best spec and i do love a good screen. Sadly i could notice the lower res of the Z3 COmpact compared with mt HTC One ( m7)

After 24 hours of use all I can say is I love this phone!

Great upgrade from my note 2, the screen is beautiful. Phone is very responsive, & battery seems like it's going to be even better than my old note 2 which i was always impressed with.

I thought that I’d never get a phone larger than the S5 and here I am. :p You get over the initial size shock and 24 hours later you’ll never go back to a smaller screen. This one really is rather good and a pleasure to use.

Go and try one and next you’ll be telling us what a great buy it is. :D

Does anyone else love the slight raise of the screen on this... its subtle but it really makes the screen pop like its floating slightly above the phone. It makes it a joy to use.
Im even wondering if I should bother with a custom rom...especially wen android L comes out.

Just popped into my local EE store after work. Non in stock but they did have a black demo unit to play with.

The screen is amazing. Really eye popping. It looked like the screensaver was 3D!

It feels very, very premium. I have never held a Samsung phone before and thought "yes this feels expensive and well made" but I did with this. the metal frame and the whole design is very nice indeed.

It is however massive so I'm still not sure I want to have a phone that big :p

Also, the bottom half had more of a red tint to it on a white background! ARGH. They better not all be like that.

What's this tint issue? Opened up S note on a white page and mine is uniform. Feel like i'm missing out .

Must have been 10 people after me waiting to buy one.

I've come from a LG G3 and it's marginally bigger, particularly with the S View case on which adds a little more bulk. Not sure about the battery yet, sometimes I think it's draining slowly the others it seems to be dropping quite quick.

Well, after 24hrs of running this with the ART runtime, i have had to switch back to DALVIK.

Bit of a shame really as for the first couple of hours it ran really well!.

Unfortunatley it does cause some wierd hangs with quite a few apps and is quite inconsistent in when it does it too. (sometimes facebook can hang, and quite a few other major apps).

also causes slightly higher battery drain, causes the phone to heat up quite a bit quite often and when ever you restart the phone it keeps "re-optimising" all of your apps which can sometimes take up to five minutes.

all in all there is something a bit wrong with it at the moment that i hope they will sort out in another update.

Has the potential to make this beast fly more than it does already but using it on a daily basis would drive me batty.
