**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

I think i got caught out at a weak moment, Three called me today for early renewal, the cute sounding girl really won me over, i now have one of these winging its way to me, looking forward to it though, cant say i was really wanting for a new phone but i guess i'm a sucker for new tech... and a sweet voice...:o
Oh well i guess its a step up from my slightly abused looking SGS4:D

You'll love it mate, beautiful phone!

You're not going crazy, the Note 4 is a bit (0.5mm) narrower and I can feel the very slight difference too: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/si...Note-4,Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3/phones/8577,7984

Actually, depending on whether the measurements on that site are at the widest point (i.e the top and bottom corners on the Note 4), it might even be very slightly more than 0.5mm as the metal frame tapers inwards a bit away from the corners.

It even looks narrower from the pic on that site. It definitely felt narrower in the hand than the Note 3, but this website says something different:

http://www.valuewalk.com/2014/10/galaxy-note-4-vs-galaxy-note-3/
"the Galaxy Note 4 is 8g heavier, and slightly longer and wider than its predecessor."

The difference will be tiny either way, but the screen on this beast is just something else.

Download 'tubemate.apk' from google and it lets you download youtube videos in full 1440p, I've now got about 5 clips. The clarity, and the colours are the best I've ever seen on ANY screen, period. I think I need a 4k set at home now, normal HD just doesn't cut it anymore. :D

I know not many people are bothered, and I will be able to tell myself in a few days, but how is the speaker on the Note 4? Not for music, but for voices? One of the best things about the Note 3 is how loud and clear my podcasts are.

YouTube videos are loud and clear if that helps. Not lacking in the volume department at all.

I had a brief play with one last night, very impressed. Despite knowing the screen would be great I was still blown away. I quite liked the S Pen, having never used one before, though it wouldn't show the automatically displayed S Pen menu when taken out (probably due to the security tether which blocked it from knowing it was housed/removed). The camera was fast, phase detection AF is a neat feature and the quality was superb. Samsung have finally made a good looking phone! As MKBHD said in his review, the only noticeable slow down was from the multitasking menu but I'm sure an update can fix that.

Have you been with Voda for a long time? That's a brilliant deal.

Add me to that list too lol,

S2/S3/Note 2/S4/Note 3/Nexus 5/iPhone 5s/S5/iPhone 6/Note 4

Maybe the Note 4 will put an end to this expensive habit haha

Mate, you're an honorary member of the list! :D

I doubt the Note 4 will put an end to the expensive habit...there's no helping those on the list. We're all a lost cause... :o
