Benefits a magnet to migrants.

Ironically, I think the big stories appearing in the DM and Sun about asylum seekers living in mansions and creaming £thousands from the state coffers actually act as an advertisement to come here.

Those stories paint an unrealistic expectation both for the serially stupid in the UK, and the woefully impoverished entrepreneur in the poorer reaches of the world.

That is actually ironic!

I don't know how 'anyone' can turn away an asylum seeker with a clear conscious.
Its inhuman to think you wont help people in need.
The only problem is sorting the wheat from the chaff.

You help them then, you take some in your spare room, don't tell me what I should be doing I do enough without helping the rest of the world as well.

Where does this open door policy end ? everybody who trips up in this country claiming everything under the sun should be allowed in then.

Did you read the OP? As soon as they're in the country they can claim asylum, plus I bet there's all sorts of benefits that are paid without checks on immigration status - hardship allowances, emergency housing etc.

We need to crack down hard on people employing illegal immigrants, or providing slum housing for them too.

"I bet" just isn't good enough to form an argument around.

But frankly compared to me his grammar is awful, it's hardly better than txt speak half the time, he sounds like a teenager but i think i saw in another thread he's almost as old as i am!

I don't think he should be able to get away with such a serious accusation without consequence in my opinion, if i was a mod looking at this thread if he couldn't back something like that up it would earn him a holiday.
Why am I not surprised that you of all people advocate banning of people for saying things you don't like.

Oh poor you and your sensitive delicate feelings. You are not entitled to be free from feeling offended.

How is that relevant? The UK doesn't have the same standard of living so £36 in the UK is nothing, Jesus Christ

It's the old "The Streets of London are paved in Gold" thing!

(Agricultural workers lured to the expanding industrial cities during the 18/19 century by the promise of huge wages without realising that, in the cities, unlike the countryside, everything has to be paid for AND its jolly expensive too!)

deleted not worth it. Vote and be disappointed again. Good luck

the uk doesn't have anywhere near an open door policy

As regards Europe it of course does and the rest of the world once here know it's virtually impossible to get chucked out by using a combination of an 11 point appeal process and the human rights business and in the end simply disappearing.

If you get into this country by illegal means then if you get returned you really are a numpty as you only have to shout "I'm Gay" and you're in.

I'm here all week people, try the veal.

There is no debate. Both sides are entrenched. The dumb vs. The blind.

You cast your vote next year then the next day you put up or shut up.

go post UKIP leaflets through doors, make a real change.

accept your life is terrible and you cant make anymore of it because of your terrible life choices. Don't blame others trying to do the same as you COULD.

Yes, you have no idea how much that is to someone from a poor country.

Except they aren't spending it in that country, so it's nothing. Of course as mentioned there are the indirect benefits.

Though don't you have to be in the country for certain period before you can even claim?

Part of the reason that people will want to come to the UK is that they already speak the langunage. It's the colonial past coming back to bite us. In fact if Britain wasn't medalling in Africa and the middle east creating false nation states there probably wouldn't be as many asylum seakers any way. Besides from the French doing it too, and they have their own problems with immigrants.

Saying something i don't like is one thing and i'm up for a debate, defamation of character is something entirely else and a very sinister and immature way to conduct a debate and he should not be able to get away with something like that. I've been banned a couple of times for similar comments so why should he get away with it? Plenty of other people are debating very well here without attacking each other, something he clearly doesn't have the intelligence to do.

I see he ran away from this thread as per usual and in hiding.

go post UKIP leaflets through doors, make a real change.

Going to Rochester and Strood in the next couple of weekends to do exactly that.
