Heard this on R4 this morning on the drive in, or rather heard a RT spokeswoman getting roasted over the channel's obvious vitriolic bias and propagandha.

So now we have a state sponsored news station beaming their version of the truth in to the UK, whilst you could argue that's no different to the BBC World Service I can't help but think they'd have a slightly more moderate approach than RT.
Personally this gnaws at me a little bit, knowing Putin's agenda and modus operandi when questioned about such things. "No, not at all it's nothing sinister. After all you have BBC World Service, why not RT?"
To echo the final point on the R4 interview: Dangerous encroachment or harmless posturing that people of the UK should be able to see through?
edit - Just comparing reports of the same story.
BBC - RAF Jets Intercept Latvian Cargo Plan Over Kent
RT - The Russians are coming! UK Media Hypes up interception of Latvian Plane
Loving the terrorism preamble, then a quick dig at a small matter of semantics. Incidentally the Antanov company was founded in Russia according to Wikipedia.
No apology here.

RT - The Russians are coming! UK Media Hypes up interception of Latvian Plane
RT said:Russian planes everywhere
The excitement surrounding the intercept – apparently based on post-9/11 terrorist attack fears – came amid a heightened terror alert in the UK at the time of the allied military campaign against the Islamic State.
Media reports mirrored the panic frenzy triggered by the incident, but in a peculiar way: first saying that the cargo plane was “Russian” and then switching to a “Russian-made” reference.
Both takes were wrong: the Antonov design bureau, the producer of An-26 planes, is a Ukrainian company founded in Soviet times, and the plane in question belonged to a Latvian-registered company, ironically called RAF-Avia.
BBC said:The RAF confirmed the aircraft was a Russian-made Antonov An-26.

BBC said:"To fulfil their quick reaction role the Typhoons were cleared to travel at supersonic speed, any noise disturbance as a result of this is regretted."
