Reading through the OC forums I see the Beko DW686 comes highly recommended.
Had a ring round my local stores and one sales guy told me to consider the BOSCH SMV40T10GB.

I don't mind paying up to £400 but if the Beko DW686 is still the favourite, why pay more.

Thanks in advance.

BEKO are probably the best of the budget end of the market.

The cheaper Bosch dishwashers tend to come with a plastic tub now, not a steel one.

Ok thanks.
So, if I wanted to up it a notch, out of the budget end, what would be recommended?

Thank you.

Neff, Bosch and Siemens are the same, the only really difference is features, mechanically they are the same, steel/plastic tub aside.

Well supply Bosch as they are easy to install, you can adjust the rear feet from the front, the doors are a doddle to hang and they are reliable.

If you go down the BSH route just make sure it has a full metal tub.

What difference does a plastic vs metal tub make?

Our Bosch has a metal tub, but i am struggling to understand how this is better than if it had a plastic one :p

I was trying to save some money so bought a top model Bosch, wish I spent the extra on a Miele. Its does not clean as well and the stuff is still a little wet when finished.

We recently bought a
Bosch SMV65E00GB_SS Standard Dishwasher in Stainless Steel
It dries perfectly, has enough cycles to do whatever you need
Its cleaning power is excellent, I have tested it, and as OldCoals states the door was a doddle to hang, easy to adjust and fit into place etc.

My only grip was the dodgy electrics I replaced from the old machine I removed, sticking point, nothing to do with the Bosch.

Cant think of any difference apart from the cost to manufacture.

...and now, sitting empty, door closed, all of a sudden it sounds as if it wants to start up and is leaking water.
Working perfect up until tonight :)
