Interesting, the iPhones held their own in some categories but the s5 edged it, I'm surprised as the camera was an aspect I thought apple would win in and was pretty much the only reason I considered buying one.

Considering the S5 has a very good camera, there was never going to be a massive difference. Most people seem to think the 6 has the best overall camera, though (factoring in focusing and auto adjustment quality, etc). The S5 is definitely going to win anything that involves extensive cropping.

I'd like to see a big detailed camera comparison with proper images (not a video).
 
Anyone use the XtroLite Rom? also whats the process of updating Bootloader and modem like through Odin? is it easy enough to do never done it before but im rooted and have recovery and Alliance ROM running atm but i get the odd freeze and the main gripe is 4hrs Screen on time battery is less than i was getting before, i think it maybe Ktoonz kernel though in honesty.
 
I'm running XtreStoLite on mine

I didn't need to change bootloader or modem, I just flashed from CWM

I tried Alliance for a while but I found it very buggy and a bit sluggish, then I moved over to crDroid and that was beautiful but lacked some features (IR blaster mainly) so I moved back to TW and went for XtreStoLite and it's the best rom I've found on the S5 so far

Just flash the ROM zip in CWM then flash the addon zip as well to choose your options :) brilliant setup!

You won't look back!!

As for battery, I too am using Ktoonz and I'm using the "Undeniable 2" profile and I can go all day (6am - midnight) and be on ~20% going to bed with around 5 hours screen time
 
Where's the best place to buy one of these just now please? I'm currently using an S4 with Vodafone out of commitment so would probably stay on that network and buy an S5 SIM free but also wondered if anyone had heard of any deals being offered by the Vodafone retentions team.

The Note 4 is coming out this month, I would wait until that comes out and the S5 may become cheaper, or you could get the Note 4 if you want a bigger, better phone than the S5.
 
what is the best screen protector for these?

i have seen tempered glass ones on auction site for 99p, are they worth buying or something a bit more expensive? seen another on the jungle for £3.50
 
I paid extra for a nilkin tempered glass and it's certainly worth the extra.

Running ktoonz kernel and xtrolite rom I got 5hr45 screen on yesterday which is the most I've ever has very happy with the performance.
 
Has anyone on this forum imported a S5 Prime? Some fairly good prices on ebay from reputable sellers (assuming you don't get stung by customs)

Would suit me perfectly as I want all the specs of the Note 4 but in a more comfortable size.

Bit concerned what with connectivity issues, warranty issues and possible app compatibility like skygo though.....
 
Lately since using Xtrolite ROM when someone embeds a youtube video on this forum it shows the screenshot of it then when i click play which usually then opens up Youtube app it doesnt even do anything anymore it just wont click/play any reason why?
 
Took the plunge and ordered an S5 prime from S Korea. Arrived today and its amazing. Note 4 specs in an S5 size/shell with spare battery included for £360!

Works great on EE

Ordered from gnestore Australia on ebay. Was pretty apprehensive at first but it was delivered within a week of ordering and all seems fine with the phone. There is a thread all about this on xda with lots of useful info from others who have imported one.
