I was wondering, is the 'GEFORCE GTX' logo green and LED lit on ALL the 970/980 reference cards? I saw a white one somewhere, but I don't know if that was a mod.

It's a mod, but a fairly easy one. If you just remove the shroud, the logo will pop out, and u can sand the green off with any 250+ grit sandpaper.

I did it myself on a GTX 780, painted it black while i was at it:p

Very nice! So technically you could repaint the logo any colour you liked? What did you respray with?

I don't think so. The logo is actually an illuminated panel with green stuff on it. I have only seen one change the LED to red with a lacquer, but he sat down and painted it with a brush, but the white would still bleed out in some areas. The more simple way i could think of changing the LED, would simply be to apply some sort of coloured film over the logo.

Whole thread about it here, also one of those who painted it red posted pictures, dont remember which page tho, but if u check the last page, there is also a walktrough.

mmm very nice!

Is that just a simple can of spray job?

Since most of the parts were aluminium, i picked a slightly more expensive spray from Motip, which of course is made for cars, but i wanted to make sure the paint would stick, even at 100c :p
