First impressions maun?

300mb update already hmppf.

So far it feels nice, not to heavy, but heavy enough to feel good in 1 hand. I do like the metal trim around the device, but if I hold it in landscape im going to be covering the speakers, so im hoping it wont muffle the audio to much.

So far im not liking the volume/power buttons, feels very spongy, not really getting a nice click like my N5 etc

stuttering?

Sounds weird but...

I have a macbook air...and a htc one m8...

I want a tablet... and really... I want the Nexus 9 to be brilliant but at this price and with these "quirks" ...I'm not sure if buying an iPad is a better call now.

MBA + iPad
or
Nexus 9 + HTC One M8

Dilemma.

good man, it actually looks ok, certainly not the degree of stuttering i thought when reading the reviews, how does it feel to you regarding stuttering?

Yeah ive noticed it a few times switching between the open apps menu and going to homescreen, deffo microstutters, its not annoying and ill happily live with it as it'll be a software fix (i hope)

I like the speakers, just did a quick test on youtube and mavity film, my first device with front facing speakers, so YAY! if you have the volume up enough you do get vibration if holding in landscape, so that may tire your hands sometime.

I would def keep it if its not too bad as it as you say is likely that updates will address this, however my brain fixates on stuttering lol and it bugs the life out of me, esp as my Nexus 5 never stutters, next issue is battery life ;)

ffs i thought thsi tablet had the same SOC as teh nvidia shield?

if it turns out to be crap i will exchange it for a nvidia shield then.

shambolic.

was really looking forward to recieving my nexus 9.

Same situation, MBP + ipad air 2 or htc one m8 + nexus 9... I think i will wait and see

Different CPU.

SHIELD Tablet has Quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A15

N9 has Dual-core 2.3 GHz Denver.

The mere suggestion of comparing this with the sheild was met with aggressive resistance on here. I was "informed" that the sheild chip was a whole world worse than the N9 and would perform appaulingly compared to the Nexus.

So... was this wrong?

I think all of this is patchable to be honest.
I`ll let the dust settle on this one and take another look at it later

Some of the bad point I have read have been pure WTF moments for me like, why on earth are you mentioning this?
Main one was about how with two hand you cant reach the bad button in landscape?
Who on earth holds there tablet like that and uses their thumbs????

I've read a few reviews, and I think I'll give it a little while for updates to be released and whatnot to see if performance improves. Wouldn't mind getting my hands-on one to see what the build is like.
I'll be out in the US over Christmas, so can see myself picking one up.

It'll definitely be an improvement over my 2012 N7, and I can't see Google releasing an utter lemon. :D

going for the N6, cant see the need for both, my N10 still doing all i use it for which is video playback in bed.

Looks sweet though

Just had a 5 minute play with one and it felt really fast to me, no stuttering at all.

It was a tad heavier than I expected and there was a definite hot spot on the back at one end which could be quite uncomfortable.
