Completed the Nightfall with our Fireteam from work. It was prety intense as it turns out one of us had actually done that strike before at all.

The first attempt saw us wipe due to being in too much of a rush. The second attempt went fine as we took our time and killed everything that moved. At one point I thought we were going to wipe when the final boss was down to ~ 1/4 health. As the counter went from 3-2-1 I remembered I had self revive.... :o

After that it was just a case of hover out of cover (Angel of Light + Dr Nope + Ammo Synth F T W) and hit the boss before retreating. One of our team was acting as field medic reviving us when we got hit in the face by a rocket. I was deliberately saving my self revive at that point just in case (I really didn't want to wipe when the boss was nearly dead).

Overall it was pretty tough but I can see how it would be done relatively easy solo (cheesing / only killing specific targets).

We will be doing the Weekly heroic tonight which will be made easier by what dropped for me.... ICEBREAKER! **** yes! :D

One of my teammates got The Swarm whilst the other received 11 shards. The shards sound naff (in comparison to an exotic weapon drop) but they allowed him to breeze into level 28 (annoying my other teammate in the process - she wasn't happy as they are having a little competition over who can get to level 29 first).

TL;DR - Epic Nightfall, I got ICEBREAKER (:D) & all of our fireteam are now level 28.

:( i got 9 Strange coins for my nightfall and then got another 9 for the weekly with 4 more dropping in the tiger strikes, thats 22 strange coins in 1 hours gameplay on just my hunter, guess i will have to buy my own Icebreaker
 
Good job man :)

...but I'll be the dick for once to save someone else...you do realise you can cheese the end boss by hiding behind the crates at the top left of the arena? Nothing can really hit you in there.

Respect for doing it properly though, I did that first time around and it was rough, but felt rewarding.

We did cheese the end boss by hiding behind the crates. I don't know if we went to the wrong side though as I couldn't hit or even see him without jumping up and hovering (I wasn't jumping "out" just up). I only died when I jumped at the wrong point and his rockets hit me in the face.

To be fair for the half the fight we had to move out of cover and take him on in the open as he moved to the other end. I didn't realise my rocket launcher had "seeking" rounds until this fight - very useful they were too!

As I said none of us had done that strike before so we had no idea where the enemies would spawn or how often. It was quite "interesting" at points.

Yeah he takes some damage that big geezer. Tip for nex time, when he goes on a wander to the other side, just kill the renaining adds and he'll eventually come back to save you leaving your hidey-hole :)

Know how that feels, got my first piece of raid armour as well last night :D. 7 Complete VoG runs and a few part runs, on the bright side it's given me more than enough shards to upgrade all the armour (when it drops), just hope the next piece doesn’t take as long to drop :p
 
I've been lucky.. got 2 piece's of armour (Boots and chest) on my 1 and only Raid. I really do hope they do match making at some point, I'm finding it very difficult to get into a raid group and only managed to get 1 raid done.

I have done the raid 4 or 5 times now, picked up helmet, gauntlets, couple of guns but mostly RNG gives me ascendant energy :( All my guns are upgraded but my armour is unlocked I just need shards. Also wouldn't mind getting a raid chest and boots so will hopefully find a group to go through a few a more times.

Download the destiny app on your phone, there are threads there dedicated to raiding on specific platforms and difficulties. It's normally jsut a case of replying to a post, or creating your own, then sitting and waiting for an invite a couiple of minutes for an invite :p
 
Quite happy with the last two nightfall strikes. Got Gjallahorn last week and Hawkmoon this week. What will next week bring.....?? IceBreaker would be very nice.

Aside from this...doing the VoG glass weekend for the second time should be on for raids saturday and sunday.

Is there any difference between the PS4 and XBO versions? I thought it was just more content for the PS4 but after a little googling it says the PS4 version is more supported when it comes to gameplay (strikes, raids etc)

Tempted to sell PS4 version and get the XBO version.

PS4 has one extra strike (at the moment - once the DLC hits it will be two) and a few extra weapons IIRC. Other than that they are the same.

I am now aware of any other gameplay mechanic differences between the two.

Well after progressing as far as I could playing casually and seeing the price and content of expansions, I traded it in today. Got £10 less than I paid, so to me, really good value for the fun I had. If it's still going in a year, I may pick it up again.

its also only a time based exclusive.

XBO gets all the content some time next year. There are two exclusive exotic guns (monte carlo auto rifle and Hawkmoon hand canon) and one strike.

Each DLC adds a bit more PS4 exclusive content, but its not much.

I'm up to about 10 raid clears now and only got 2 pairs of boots :(

The raid drop system is ridiculously unfair.

After about 6 raids with no decent weapon drops, I joined a group that went through most of hard (up to the Gatekeeper) and I've got the raid sniper rifle, as well as Fatebringer, the legendary hand cannon that deals Arc damage. I just need the Epilogue to drop for me now and I'll have a primary weapon that does each type of elemental damage. Hopefully I can get that this week.

I've been fortunate for drops. Raid on normal today resulted in red death, a primary exotic pulse. I also got a legendary machine gun and in the weeklys I got over 20 coins. Happy days.

Grinding out the two exotic bounties that dropped are proving hard though!

Damn you both. I desparately want Fatebringer, but it just won't drop for me. Same with the raid armor. And never once got an exotic in any of the raids I've done. Why am I so unlucky :(
