Tom Peterson explains why nVidia are the best at gaming on a 4K screen.

4K truly is the next big thing, and once you've seen and experienced its awesomeness you'll never want to go back to plain Jane resolutions ever again. If you value your 'enthusiast gamer' badge and like to think of yourself as having the best of the best in PC gear, then you need a 4K system. You owe it to yourself. Unleash your SLI system and experience a future console gamers can only dream of.

They're hardly going to say amd is the best, are they? :)

And scaling on anything more than two cards in 900 series is rubbish no?

Not dissing nvidia as have just gone back to them myself, just saying :)

Actually, scaling at 4K was fantastic. 99% constant on both GPUs and sorted out any weakness found on my overclock.

Not so sure about not wanting to go back to plain Jane resolutions, it seems that quite a few users on here have gone back down to more manageable resolutions for one reason or another.
Personally I don't think 4k is quite ready for primetime yet. Maybe with the next round of screens and not forgetting the software to drive them so things are readable, Maybe window 10.

Yes the best when they promote withholding vram unless you buy into Titan. If they were serious it would have been 8GB all around for the 980 launch. I like the products but the pr and tactics stink to high heaven.

Well in fairness, nVidia were the first to supply enough VRAM to cope with 4K and it didn't cost the earth. The 780 was only marginally behind the Titan and the 6GB variant was more than enough to cope if you went SLI. I do agree with the new cards though and 4GB is very stingy. Maybe they are holding off till AMD release but one thing is for sure, 4K is truly breathtaking for games like Tomb Raider, Assetto Corsa and Batman AO. Not so good for twitch shooters though and that will remain till 120Hz for my liking.

Would love 4k but you really need 3 (current) gpu's at minimum for some games, then there's the problem of 4 gigs not being enough for some games.

970/980 would not be my choice for 4K though not many other choices out there - if they were still available I'd prolly go with a pair of 6GB 780s.

I remember clearly having this discussion with a couple of people and they were holding off for the 980/970 and I said to grab a couple of 780 6GBs and don't look back. People who have them and fancy 4K are set to go.
