**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

I don't see why you'd buy a tempered glass screen protector to protect your phone from keys - your screen won't be scratched by them anyway.

It will be scratched by sand - but so is a tempered glass one...

I've never really used them myself, but I've always seen them as a sacrificial shield. Should the screen get scratched for any reason I'd rather it be the protector than the phone itself.

So even if on the off chance something does scratch it, you've only lost the cost of the screen protector, rather than permanently damaging a £500+ phone. :)

Because it feels better than the plastic shields and protects the screen. Simple as that.

Anyone rooted there note 4 yet? Also whats the best app for cpu speed control. I used to use SetCpu but reading the comments I don't know if that's going to be as good now.

I'm looking at getting one of these, as contract on Note 2 ends next month.

Just a few questions:

Is there anywhere I can buy one sim free?

Three or EE?

If I purchased from Three directly, is the phone locked to Three?

I'm just trying to figure out what is best to do at the moment.

Carphone warehouse £649 where I got mine.
I was told buy a colleague that his iphone 6 from 3 came unlocked, so they may possibly come unlocked.

Three do say their phones come unlocked on their site, but I imagine they would probably have their own customised firmware with three services and features baked in; anyone able to confirm?

Carphone warehouse do sell phones unlocked, i was chatting to a guy in a store other week, he said if you goto O2 shop all there phones are all locked to O2, but in O2 store samsung note 4 was cheaper £609.

Cant confirm if its locked or not but its definitely Three branded firmware, with standard array of three preloaded applications.

Just received mine yesterday lunchtime, have to say i'm mighty impressed, first thing that struck me when i took it out of the package, was the solid quality feel, such an improvement over the S4, the size will definitely take some getting use to, the screen is amazing, so sharp so clear, impressed with battery life so far, been hammering it since i got it.
Samsung really have done themselves proud with this device, very polished product.

On the subject of cases, i'm currently running a Spigen Neo Hybrid, got an I-Blason Armorbox on its way for days where more rugged protection is required, has anyone had any experience with these? i'm a bit concerned the quality might not be up to much but it was pretty cheap, I want the Spigen Tough Armour but wasnt available when i ordered, if the I-Blason isnt up to much i'll just order the Spigen Tough Armour when its available.
.

Put in battery saver mode... okay a little notification... huh why is it still there... email / text comes through can't quick action... great job Samsung.

And blocking mode as well... why does that icon have to be in the bar all the time.

Yep that's very annoying! No idea why Samsung thought it would be a good idea to have the icon there permanently. A subtle icon in the very top bar would have been just fine.

If you're rooted then there's ways to get rid of them, but if not it's probably a bit more difficult.

Hmm I might root just to get rid of some of the apps but I might just waiting until there is a CM Lollipop 5 build.

how do i get the dropbox space if i already have an account?

Sadly, you can't. It seems that it's for new customers only.

I guess you could make a new account, claim the 50 GB free and then add that as a shared folder to your main account, but it's a bit of a workaround.

Ive deleted and made a new account, linked my phone to my pc, comleted 5 of the 7 getting started steps but only got 250mb :/

More reading states AT&T phones only.

Mine offered me the 50GB extra, but as I've already got over 50GB in storage, it wouldn't let me have another :(

(mines a sim free UK model)

What do you think of Spigen Galaxy Note 4 Case Neo Hybrid Satin Silver for a case?

Im scared of dropping this beast as iv already dropped it once but luckily that was onto my bed :D
