Far Cry 4 featuring NVIDIA GameWorks [UK]

Sorry I shouldn't quoted you personally, I quoted that message because the mods left that reply in there. My Rage was against the guy who removed my message and give me a warning for piracy!
I could understand if I 1. linked a site or 2. said the word piracy.

edit
I have googled but can't find anything thats why I asked for a link.

No probs and my tears have stopped now :D

As for HairWorks, here is a R9 290 running COD Ghosts with HairWorks:

I love these subtleties and I wasn't a fan of Ghosts at all but it did make the game a little more playable to me.

Any idea how performance is? I am big fan this sort of tech also. Playing TR with TressFX made the game much more enjoyable I found.

Looks pretty good on that video and I believe it uses DirectCompute, so should have no problems (happy to be told other wise and that was what I read on another forum).

Lets wait and see i guess :D

But let's wait and see on both before things get out of hand again. I cringe when people say that nVidia are crippling performance on AMD and not even considering that nVidia are also having the same crap performance because of poor/lazy/fully untested releases. I see GameWorks as a very good addition for all gamers, regardless of vendors and I want to see these enhancements in games, as do others.

It will be released in a week ish and then we can have a look at performance on both.

Agreed! I'll just put this here also I was never one who got involved in the hole Gameworks effecting performance thing.

Well I hope it doesn't go the way of WatchDogs and because it ran bad on AMD, nVidia were guilty and only a couple of people recognised that nVidia guys were having massive issues as well.

I really hope it plays well on both AMD and nVidia and it looks as good as the demo's being shown.

It didn't run bad on AMD, most AMD users in here(including myself) said it ran decent, not brilliant but good enough considering the problems it had/has.

Most performance tests echoed the same too, I think the stink caused on previous GW performance maybe(hopefully) sorted out any (BS/valid)discrepancies, time will tell when other titles release.

@Shanks,

The only GW's features not available on AMD is gpu PhysX effects, the rest run through DC afaik.

Here you go dude -

Lists all the Nvidia tech being used below the video :)

Far Cry 4 is a massive game, and the PC version offers the same gameplay features and systems as the current-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. Accordingly, Ubisoft recommends a well-equipped system for smooth gaming at 1920x1080:
That doesn't fill me with much confidence.

Surprised at that coming from Nvidia.

No it's in all versions of the game it's just that the video was edited for the UK :)

If you thought FC2 was bad you NEED to try FC3, Awesome game and truly what FC2 should have been !

Very true, I am still at about 25% of FC2 from the games launch as its boring but FC3 was amazing and got me hooked.

I aim to try and complete FC2 someday.

It looks very pretty, but I only really liked the first FarCry made by Crytek TBH. More interested in The Witcher 3 TBH,but I need to finish Skyrim and the first two Witcher games first!

The FC successor is really Crysis, they were not allowed to use the FarCry (2) name as Ubisoft owned it and then fell out.

I think it's more an Ubisoft problem

Agreed, i'm just surprised Nvidia would put a line like that on their colours.

Ubisoft have been ridiculed for recent games that have bad performance, crappy under optimised Console ports, and making stupid comments like "30 FPS is better than 60" "PC Gamers don't care about performance, they just get bigger GPU's to make it run better"

Read the line

Far Cry 4 is a massive game, and the PC version offers the same gameplay features and systems as the current-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

Those consoles are powered by what is equivalent to an R7 260X

Accordingly, Ubisoft recommends a well-equipped system for smooth gaming at 1920x1080:

Right, ported straight from Console, runs like Whatch Dogs... "just buy a bigger GPU"

If they want PC gamers to run 30FPS why do "we" need a bigger GPU (assume they mean better/more powerful)?
