Corsair 780t review

yeah that was the way I was swaying...just trying to match things up to the fugly gpus and their nasty blue PCBs lol. Not much I can do with them until something worth buying that beats my 7950 crossfire comes along. Couple of matching 980tis might be calling me next year :)

Couple of gpu backplates, or even just one for the more visible top card. Thank god gigabyte used a black pcb for the wf 780's. Btw, does your wf run much hotter than the lower card?

nope, they are actually really nicely matched now. Previous in my other case, Lian LI build, I had the WF3 below and the IceQ Boost above, temp on the top card was generally around 5-8 degrees hotter. Top card used to hit around 63oC under full load with the wf3 underneath never getting above 55oC. With this way around, it seems to work better with the IceQ underneath drawing the cool air from lower and exhausting the heat right out the back. Before, obviously the way the cooler is on the ICEQ, it was drawing the hot air straight from the WF3 as the 3 fans was just blowing the heat inside the case. With it this way around, max temps I've seen under massive load have been around 60oC and both within 1 or 2 degrees.

Nice, I really do like this case, but I'm torn at the moment. My other choice would be the Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra, mod a window on the side (Would be my first proper mod :p) and create a coloured theme with the case (Maybe changing the colour of the handles/support legs with water cooling to match).

Here is my black 780T, hurriedly buit yesterday to get up and running. I'll work on aesthetics and presentation later. I've got a corsair H105 which has a larger radiator at the top, and it fits nicely.
The spec states that you can fit 3 fans at the top of the case, but I would take that with a pinch of salt. Sure you can fit another fan at the top towards the front of the case, but it sits half over any optical drives you may have, and the top of the two bays won't be available for use.
Having said that, I really really like this case. It's a massive improvement on my old Antec case, which I was still quite fond of. It runs very quiet and very cool without any great tinkering. Lookin forwards to playing round with this a bit more.

How can I see a bigger pic Shoei? That pic you have hosted is quite small...unless I'm looking at it wrong.

Hello mate. You can click on it for the full size image in flickr. Sorry, it was done in a bit of a hurry. Feel free to peruse the following 300+ pics of my holiday in Nepal which I accidentally included, lol.

Lovely looking build/case Tony!

ty mate, my pics do it very little justice, I'm so pleased with it in the flesh, its such a looker, really happy with the colour scheme as well. The pics make it look rather blue and bright, where is in reality the lighting is more white and more subtle which is what I wanted.

Really wanted thus case but I think its just too tall. It will just about fit under my desk but trying to access the USB sockets would be a pain. Shame the I/o panel isn't front facing.

Interestingly, the upwards facing i/o ports were one of the main draws for me. This sits under my desk, which is 70 cm from the floor to ther underside, and I can fit devices to those slots without issue. I prefer upward facing slots as it reduces the chance of knocking and damaging something if I brush past the case.

Just waiting for my yellow one to come into stock and ship out. Hopefully shouldn't be too long as the regular black and white are available. Already setup keyboard and led lighting to yellow to match

my new 780t came today with the H105, fans, cables etc..let the build commence :) and its stunning in the flesh, absolutely stunning

Hi Tony that's just stunning, I've just put this case on my build list to purchase in the next week or so ..... correct me if I'm wrong but out the box you get the 2 front fans and 1 rear exhaust fan... correct??

I want to fill the bottom and top with fans with the same as the front and back if that possible with the little LEDs on.

Have you added another blue led strip inside or not??

thanks

Yes correct. 2 front white led and 1 rear come out the box. I bought a few more white led sp120's for some extra subtle light and as u can see have 1 on the bottom. Airflow is epic in the case. Also have 4 high performance sp120's in push/pull for the H105 rad in the top, and another sp120 in the roof as exhaust as well next to the rad.

And yes, I have a lian Li blue led strip tucked on windowed side by the front cover, sometimes I like a little blue, other times I just turn it off and just rock with the white leds from fans.

I posted my 780T over in the new case thread but gotta say really impressed by it. even with a H100 in it with akasa vipers at full pelt its quieter than my old cm690II. Plan to do a custom wc when funds allow, in the mean time added in a phobya white led flex light and they are insanely bright.

Due to my colours being yellow and black (originally ordered yellow version but that had manufacturing issues apparently) mainly i'am going to pick up some yellow LED's and try to replace the stock red ones on this case as they clash horrendously

have you not got a 120mm fan mounted in the bottom to get some air blowing onto those cards?

I love the case, airflow is exceptional, but the only thing I don't like is the HDD cage in the front obstructing the airflow. Have you not thought about removing the top HDD mounting cage to at least giving you better air flow from the top front fan seeing as you haven't anything in that mounted in that top cage?

Yeah at some point gonna remove that top drive cage just haven't got round to it yet thanks to my daughter being a handful. Even with that cage in the cards don't seem to get too hot but they are 290x's they will thermal limit even in the best airflow you could imagine hence why I want to go the wc route.
