Ubisoft Games - Going off steam?

Anyone know what's up with the Ubisoft Games going off Steam?

I'm talking about FarCry 4 mainly. Was kinda looking forward to getting that game on Steam due to the benefits of Co-Op play integrated within the in-game Steam system.

Meh, based on their previous few games I'm just going to wait for it to be on Steam in a sale now.

Was really looking forward to it to start with, but after Watch_dogs and AC:Unity, I'm not prepared to take a punt on it, especially at full price! Same with The Division...

Disappointing, but clearly they don't want my money

Surely you dont play any of their games if you're so against them? My guess is you dont pay for much though and use the shoddy state of Ubisoft to justify stealing your games.

It's up there with, i pirate the game and if i like it i then buy it. I've heard that gem so many times in the past.

I do think people are a bit rich saying it's ok to pirate their games.

Boycott them as a company if you are that bothered, but it doesn't give you the right to illegally download stuff.

It's up there with, i pirate the game and if i like it i then buy it. I've heard that gem so many times in the past.

For a period of time I actually did this - as a student with no money and shortly after PC Zone went the way of the dodo (goodbye reviews), anything without a demo I'd 'acquire', play ~1h or so and if I liked it enough, buy it, otherwise I'd delete it. Nowadays I know some reliable review sites and have a decent job I can afford to pay up front.

Not saying it's a morally fine way to behave, but it IS sometimes true

OT: I find Uplay less annoying now I don't play any games that use it and never have to experience it. I may change thay tune when I next go back to Anno 2020.

If it's so bad, why do you want to play it at all?

If you were actually so against them, you'd stick to your principles and just boycott their games completely. Sounds more like just another kid making pathetic excuses to themselves to justify piracy

Completely agree here.

Also nope I've never downloaded a game as I have a job and can buy them. If I don't like a company I just don't buy their games. Ubisoft being one.
Not mainly because of their practices but also because I've not enjoyed any of their releases in the past year or so.
Far Cry 3 was a weird one, I enjoy games with large open maps but for some reason I got very bored of this game even though all my friends loved it.

Sigh. Why even both playing any of their games? I hope their devs, artists and skilled staff find jobs with decent software houses, and no longer have to work for a corporation like Ubi that is focused on the yearly crank out of dross.

You've judged the game as 'not worth your money' before you've even bought it, people like you are the reason PC gamers get a bad name and DRM is such a pain now. In no way are your actions justified, pathetic excuse because you feel so privileged.

As much as you hope Ubisoft lose their jobs, I bet they hope the police come knocking your way, I would be.

Ban hammer was a joke.

And I meant DRM not DSR, was just talking about DSR in GH so mixed them too up.
It was also a more general view point of people trying to justify pirating a game.
