MKBHD seemed a bit disappointed! :(

I thought he was happy with it.

The issues he had like battery etc he said no doubt would be fixed via software updates. He liked the hardware and said only the Note 4 was better but the note does cost more and has the crappy TouchWiz.

He did say all GHD phones have similar issues and were not perfect due to the technology not perfected yet.

The problem with this phone is the price; the other recent nexus phones were compromised hardware packages but very cheap and running the latest software. That is what made them palatable

This phone has a top end price with hardware that is slightly behind the top segment. Its only selling point is the pure android software.

Its still cheaper than the competition.
Couple that in with the latest OS and timely updates and its actually a good price.

In percentage terms the price is 20% cheaper at most compared to iPhone 6+ and Note 4 both of which have much better hardware (the other two have better screens, battery life, camera, audio...). IMHO that is not a massive/compelling saving.

£150 is only 20%/less material when looking at a 64GB nexus 6 vs 64GB iPhone 6+; the only compelling point is the software compared to the iPhone's hardware.

and how do the note or the iphone have better audio? neither has dual front facing speakers and i have seen no negative reviews on the headphone jack...cause lets face it who reviews that....

The iPhone 6+ does not have better hardware

mmm, are you sure about that? I thought the A8 was much better than the 805  The screen, whilst lower resolution than the Nexus 6, is better in the real world in terms of brightness, contrast etc etc. I've no idea about the camera or battery life though

what's the Nexus 6 party piece? I mean what does it offer that the others don't?

Screen is preference. I'd take on OLED over LCD any day. The iPhone is almost dull slab, this especially white has much more character. Front facing stereo speakers, decent camera, fast charger It's all about the package on the whole.

Then there's pure, unadulterated Lollipop which seals the deal.

It has 2011 specs.

Same. Just waiting for pre order and carrier offerings. I think I would like to get it on EE as need a new tarfif anyway

Me too, although there's a good chance that I'll be buying outright.

I think I saw somewhere that Three wont be offering the Nexus on contract, is that true?

But it doesn't really have a top end price does it? It's main competitors are the Note 4 and iPhone 6+. The Note 4 is £100 more, and the 6+ is £200 more!

The Note 4 can be had for £540 on pay as you go to be fair so its only £40 more.

I do think they have priced this too high and made it too big. Still no micro sd as well....

My theory: If the Google Play Store depends upon the strength of its back-end servers in the US to process the flood of applicants on its devices pages, then I expect the launch to be when Google opens in California---more like 5pm London time. If on the other hand Google Play Store can handle the crush with UK based servers, then a morning UK launch could be possible.

If memory serves correctly, previous launches on the Play Store have been in the late afternoon UK time.
