Better than the US where some people refreshing every second saw it go straight from coming soon to out of stock. If google/moto wan't to give carriers priority why even bother offering pre-orders at this stage, it just looks worse when it only comes up for a few minutes.

Are you really asking why Google would want people clicking regularly on the Google Play Store devices page?

I believe it to be obvious that getting people used to visiting the Google Play Store for more than just an annual visit to buy a device is sensible. Ok, so we are frustrated as we are early adopters, but plenty of people just visit the site occasionally and Google would want that to be more frequent.

More clicks = more business.

Google has not misled anyone here. We just assumed that when the carriers launched, the Play Store would launch.
