No problem with them being punished. It's the fact the law isn't applied in equal measure to everyone that gets me. Emdadur Choudhury being fined £50 for burning poppies on Rememberance Sunday for example.
A long community service might be a better idea? In this case, the community of the mosque would be quite apt.
Where does some one get a pigs head in the first place? :/
Ridiculous,
Around 10 years ago, my local art gallery hosted a contemporary exhibition by an African "Artist" which revolved around visitors being invited to kick bibles around a room.
Should we really be sending people to prison for being offensive?
Meanwhile the paedophile Westminster rapists and the thieves that stole billions from the economy walk around without a care in the world.

Imagine somebody chucked a pigs head into your garden as a 'prank' - that sort of thing isn't acceptable either.
It's just not something that is ever acceptable in society so it's correct that those who do it are punished to send out the message that it's not something we do.
I don't understand how a member of the Religion of permanent offence who's followers can happily saw peoples heads off with blunt knives, cut limbs off for minor crimes, stone women to death and whip children in its name are all suddenly outraged and disgusted by a piece of meat. Lolreligion.

Make an example of intolerant pieces of scum, as far as I'm concered if people started throwing Richard Dawkins books into churches it should be the same.
If you're intentionally persecuting an innocent group of individuals then an example need be made.
I say that as an atheist.
