I am as strict as this all the time and yet my Moto G 2014 has a couple of scratches I can see, luckily on the plastic screen protector. Had I not had one then the front would be scratched.

No amount of pocket skills is going to stop some form of scratching on a screen unless it is protected.

Maybe because plastic scratches a lot easier than glass.

Chances are the screen would be more resistant to scratching than the protector... Screen protectors are one way to spoil a look of a phone, a flip case is another!

hehe :p

Now wheres my Nexus 6... :(

I wasn't implying they were any better or worst than glass. I was just saying that his point of 'best protection' is to put it in your pocket screen facing leg and nothing else in the pocket is not going to prevent accidental scratches if I didn't have a protector on it.

Because gorilla glass is going to be scratched by your pocket with nothing sharp/pointy inside it...

Fair enough you want to do what you can to protect the phone, a scratched screen protector is better than scratched screen. But having a scratch on a screen protector does not mean that the phone's screen would have also been scratched.

screen protectors are an insult to the craft of the phone!

who walks around with a condom on?

just stick it in a case if you are going somewhere it might get some action :D

for me that will be on the booze... or a running / cycling

I've had a screen protector on my S4 since day one. Every few months when I change it, I peel the protector off to reveal an absolutely perfect screen :D

Anyway, I hope CPW take my money soon, it's still pending in my bank account.

So my impression of which Nexus 6 we have been able to buy so far on the Google Play store is as follows:

Midnight Blue 32 GB -- yes, but only available for brief moments
Midnight Blue 64 GB -- no, coming soon (have never appeared in stock)

Cloud White-- both the 32 GB and 64 GB coming soon (have never appeared in stock)

I have successfully purchased on Midnight Blue 32 GB for a family member and still awaiting opportunity to buy one Cloud White 32 GB device.

Is this impression correct? Anyone have a different experience on the Play Store so far?

Yeah looks like it only says coming soon up till the point some stock has been made available and then lists out of stock. I've only seen the 32gb MB on play store come up with "stock".

32gb MB is the most readily available elsewhere too, they must just be churning them out with minimal production of the 64gb units. Or maybe CPW just ordered all of them.

I have the Moto X now which has the same curved screen and I too have gone off screen protectors. The curved screen edge is pleasure to use without a protector. Also I think a screen with a few scratches looks a n feels way better than even a newly installed protector. I know some like to keep it looking like new for resale value which is fair enough. But I would rather it feelt and looked good when I am using it and loose out on a few notes when selling.

Google stock seems about the same eta as from Amazon. So I ordered off amazon instead. Until a better avenue comes along.

That could work well with the MB bezel :D

Seems that Google Play Store inventory varies by geography. In Canada for example, according to Google Groups/Nexus, the Cloud White 32 GB Nexus device has shown up by is currently out of stock. Whereas in the UK, the Cloud White has not shown up at all for either storage option, currently indicating "coming soon."

I just cancelled my CPW pre-order for the Nexus 6. Long story short, I don't think the N6 is any better than my LG G3, if not worst. I actually use the split screen feature daily and find the face detect useful.

I will still buy a N6 when I can find a good deal and there are decent custom ROMs available.

Thank you for the link. The Nexus 6 review video by MKBHD demonstrated the wireless charging not working with the Nexus wireless charger.

I thought maybe Google had gone with something other than Qi, that appears not to be the case though...

Some post over at XDA that the N6 works fine with their QI chargers.
