Ipad Air 2 - Which Case?

I fancy a new iPad Air 2 (64Gb) as me and the GF are constantly fighting over the Ipad Retina we currently have in the lounge :D

The question is which case should I get for it. I had the smart cover for my current one and it's OK. I mainly like the fact that the stand means it can be used to hold it either upright for watching videos or angled horizontally at a slight angle which is more comfortable for typing.

I'm trying to decide between either getting something like that or some kind of folio keyboard case. Maybe something like the Belkin Qode keyboard case?

I guess my choice could be kind of limited as the iPad Air 2 has just been released and being slimmer than the previous generation I suspect a lot of iPad Air cases may not fit correctly.

Anyone any recommendations?

I'd recommend the Stilgut cases. Great quality and look great on the iPad, and a pretty good selection to choose from, so you'll likely find one to suit. They've just released their Air 2 cases so most online retailers don't have them just yet but you can buy direct from their store.

Slip/sleeve case is the only way to go IMO. I didn't buy a nice thin, expensive, well built iPad 2 just to put it in a big bulky case. They feel awesome to hold and a case is just going to ruin that experience for me.

Also good thing about going for slip/sleeve is that anything that fits the Air will fit the Air 2 as the only difference is a little bit of thinness.

I like it, just not "£65 worth of like" if you get me, feels like it should be a lot cheaper than that so even though its a decent case I couldn't recommend it, and is no where close to the quality of the other cases I own that were both £15 cheaper. :)

I see what you mean. It certainly isn't cheap :p

Yeah, that was part of the reason I asked the question as I'm sure the Apple case would be fine, and I had a smart cover on my old iPad which I liked, but the price of it is frankly ridiculous!

If I payed around £35 for it id be well happy, only reason I kept it was it was too much hasttle to send back.

The leather feels like PU leather, had a chemical smell for the first few days, and they have just taken original iPad Air cases and cut some holes in where they should be for the iPad Air 2, so there's a slight lip around the edge so the cover sits slightly inwards against the screen if you get me.

Looks nice though, Midnight Blues a lovely colour.

Picked up a leather case from ebay from a chinese seller. Its £13 so 5x cheaper, got my GF one her for rMini and its difficult to tell apart form the real thing and feels great. Personally think £65 for a case is a tad too much.

I've just purchased an Air 2 and I'm also on the lookout for a case but some of these prices are absolutely ridiculous as you say.

I've been searching @ the rainforest and decided to order:

'VEO Black Ultra Slim Full Body Smart Case Cover for The the Brand New iPad Air 2 (6th Generation 2014), with Full Sleep Wake Compatibility'

£16.90 delivered.

I purchased a boomerang for my Air 2:

I originally backed their kickstarter and had the full kit for the iPad 4:

All the accessories are still compatible and they've improved the design further. I find it really useful when watching movies or reading a book. In combination with the stand I use it as a third screen in the office.

Hmmm, that looks interesting.
Advert did make me laugh when the dog came to the door I was expecting it to have an iPad strapped to it via Boomerang in some innovative way :p

So do you leave the back on all the time?

I have the official case simply to protect all surfaces - particularly the back, which gets easily scuffed.

Also have you actually got your hands on it yet for Air2? If so how does it react to the speaker vibrations?

I was expecting the same when I saw it. :D

Yes, it is very light and not bulky - I don't notice it to be hones but its always there for when I need it.

It will help to protect the back as the iPad back will never make contact with any surface.

It doesn't dampen the vibration. I have had the Air 2 Boomerang since Monday but I have been using a Boomerang on an iPad since May last year.
