Had it for two days and have not even been able to lift off the landing pad. I have a CH Products Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. I have loaded in an 'elite.map' obtained from the Internet with CH Control Manger and it is not recognized by the in game controller setup. The only joystick menu item is 'Generic' or Keyboard' and all the key binding fields are empty.

Do I to have do key binding myself or is there a way to import someone else's?

Is there a simple crib sheet anywhere to explain all the different keyboard commands and what they do?

Was there a wipe recently? I haven't played for a few days and just gone in to find I am back to square one. Thought I had tried it since 3.9 but maybe not if it happened then.

Just running through the tutorials, but the travel one seems to keep getting "stuck" in hyperspace. How long should it take?

Hello. Bought a 42" plasma for my Elite setup. Now I can never go back to my 27" monitor. Totally awsome picture and immersion.

Can I ask mate, what type of screen is that?
Is it a proper PC monitor/panel or is it an LCDTV of sorts?

And did you mount it against the wall presumably?

Toying with prospect of going dual stick (two T16000s) and a set of pedals to control front and back. Anyone have experience with what might be the best pedals to use? My thinking is this might be the best way to experience the game as a left handed person. It's so irritating that there are no left handed HOTAS systems.

known bug fella, just skip it, has been reported but still not fixed

though you cannot escape out, just ctrl,alt and del and end via task manager.

I didn't realise people can just normal LCD/Plasma TVs for monitor purposes?
Wouldn't the visuals (desktop as well as in game) be washed out etc?

Arent there bespoke "larger" PC type monitors?


What kind of res would this 42" plasma display at typically? Would it be 1080p standard?

I've been thinking of a TV as a monitor for comp mainly for my film and TV and anime needs. If for gaming you need to be careful of input lag as they can be HUGE in the difference in response between a Mon and a TV. There's a good bid on the matter on utube somewhere. Still if u can find one that has reasonable response times and proper 60mhz refresh or better and true 1080p then should be fine in most games except fps twitch games.

Plasma would be 1080p. it also looks INCREDIBLE for gaming. The colours are nearly bang on perfect. The main issues are it needs as little light as possible to pop, it also won't have as little input lag as a dedicated monitor, it will only do 60HZ too.

You can get 42" monitors now, which I'd imagine would be 'better'. I can't see input lag being a major problem with ED though, FPS maybe. But I played through Tomb Raider on mine and it was incredible.

I need to think of a setup to play ED on my couch.

I have just purchased a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick and throttle for elite dangerous.

I am looking to buy rudder pedals to go with the setup

But I need some help in deciding with ones to go with I have been looking at Saitek Pro Gamer, Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedals and CH Pro Pedals.

Any suggest which one I should go with that will work well with the TH Warthog?

I currently have 3 monitors but to be totally honest, Ive rarely used that for gaming (just for multi monitor viewing.

So Im not sure Elite would work ideally with multimonitor since I have trackIR.
I have 3 x 24" monitors. Thinking of just getting a bigger monitor in the centre and having either 1 or 2 of the 24" on either side....

Thoughts?

Track ir works extremely well with 3 monitors albeit slightly stretched.
