What's your General Election voting history?

Starting to think UKIP might actually have a chance :S going by the general mood at work and socially most people I encounter seem to be of the mindset "we'll we've tried everything else" and either voting UKIP or not at all. Only 1 guy at work is voting Lib Dem - huge swing from last election where probably 30-40% were voting and mostly split between Conservatives and Labour.

I wouldn't worry that much, UKIP is polling at a relatively constant rate and is equal to Greens+LD. Currently Labour+LD coalition will give a majority and a Labour +LD+greens certainly does.

And that is just by %, with the FPTP system UKIP will likely get way less seats than that.

Plus the percentages banded about by UKIP supporters are typically an England number. Scotland has much lower UKIP support(4-5%)

Lastly the only thing that really matters is the swing constituencies where there is a tight Labour-conservative battle. It is expected that more ex-tory than ex-labour supporters will switch to UKIP so the more likely outcome is in contention seats the swing will go to labour.

33, so however many = null.

This time around I feel so strongly about Labour not getting in that I may actually vote Tory.

I think there should be an option of "Not 'X'" .... and it counts against whoever :)

I don't understand the people who say they won't vote. One of them has got to get in, so you might as well vote for the lesser evil. Failing that, just put a protest/spoil vote on the paper so that the government know that you are not happy. Not voting at all is counterproductive.

Isn't voting for UKIP like voting for a political party because they will ban gay marriages... but that's the only item on their roster?

Never voted in my life. Im 38 and have no confidence whatsoever in the main political parties here in northern ireland. Both still base their manifesto on the tribal/sectarian nonsense here. It appeals to the majority of idiots that cant see by the trible issues of flags, policing, parades etc that have held northern ireland back so long. Proper issues such as health care, education, welfare are largely forgotten about. This suits the dup/sinn fein as they thrive on the divide to keep themselves in positions of making money. I actually think direct rule from westminster would be a better job.

i may have voted for Tony, i'm so sorry for that. never again, will i vote for a party that has USA for a big bullying brother.

There should be a box entitled I do not wish to vote for any of the above candidates on the grounds that they are all lying, self interested ********s.

But generally I do not vote and think I have only voted a couple of times in my life and I am 60.

Please fully star out all swearing in future. Thank you.

2005 - Lib Dem
2010 - Lib Dem

Any future elections....no idea. Green I guess. Which happens to be the party I support here too, but I don't get a vote, as a dodgy foreign type.

I don't believe Labour represent ordinary working people any more. That UKIP, who are mostly right-wing swivel eyed loons represent ordinary working people more than Labour is a damning inditement. .

It's mostly a damming indictment of your inability to understand UKIP policies, since most are more right-wing that the Tories. I'm talking monetary policy here only, not immigration. Even if they succeeded in the policy to repatriate everyone too far down the Dulux Colour Chart, their financial policies would see the 1% get even richer and everyone else taking it in the shorts. Not to mention Nigel's comments about privatising even more of the NHS than the Tories want to. You do remember that most of his friends work in The City, right?

I feel the same way. Aren't they ALL just as bad as each other? Local elections are where it's at, but even fewer voters turn out for that.

Duly noted.

 How is that an inability to understand UKIP policies since the post of mine you quoted even mentions that they're a bunch of right-wing swivel eyed loons.

In any case, left or right doesn't matter so much anymore. What matters is how liberal you are. All three of the main political parties are edging towards ultra-liberalism, which is a belief that if you are able and willing to do something, then the law should allow you to do it. It's this sort of liberalism that has seen income inequality rise dramatically since 1997. UKIP are the only party that seem to go against this trend with their anti-immigration policies.

1997 Lib Dem
2001 Lib Dem
2005 Lib Dem
2010 Lib Dem
2015 probably Labour, no other party gets a look in where I live.

Wouldn't do a protest UKIP vote, the affect Tony Abbott has had on Australia shows how stupid that can be.

It's been a mix of lib dem and conservative over the last 16 years.

This time around as long as I can keep UKIP out, preferably keep labour out as well.

1997 - Labour
2001 - Lib Dem
2005 - Abstained
2010 - Lib Dem

Won't be voting Lib Dem again! I'll probably vote Labour next year but given how safe the seat is in I might throw the Greens a vote instead.
