iPad Air or Air 2?

We're planning on getting an iPad for our daughter this Christmas, I've never had anything apple before so completely clueless on apple products.

Is the Air 2 worth the extra £100 or so, or are there only minor differences?

Did the Air get released ages ago and the Air 2 the successor or is one just slightly better than the other?

The Air 2 is significantly more powerful, being a triple core A8 rather than a dual core A7. That, the reduced thickness, weight saving and the bonded display make it easily worth the extra cash IMO. It'll be supported for longer of course.

Dont forget the added RAM on the Air 2!

my biggest frustration with my Air is the constant tab refreshes in safari because of the limited RAM.

Air 2 also has noticeable vibration issues from the speakers.

I like to too. Rumble controls when playing games. Bass when watching movies.

Apple actually did this by design. The new speakers the Air 2 are duel firing. The fire out and into the chassis.

Still not as good as front facing speakers but its a start

I wouldn't say I like it but it's certainly something that doesn't bother me. Maybe if I'd have owned the original Air it would though.

Front facing speakers would be the icing on the cake. I really miss them coming from an HTC One.
