Bit of an annoying one this, had it a while (1 yr+) tried upgrading drivers a few times and made no difference. Looking for some advice on how to diagnose the issue.

Basically I have two monitors attached to a BFG8800GTS, on one I run games like World of Warcraft and on the other I have a browser open - usually on facebook. When I click on a video on facebook or youtube often my entire rig freezes - numlock stuck and only the reset button get around it.

I'm on Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit running GeForce version 340.52 at the moment.

Any help appreciated, it's getting annoying now.

Maybe not ideal, but have you tried turning off GPU acceleration in the web browser of your choice? So long as your CPU can handle playing a video without the GPUs help, that should stop the issue.

+1

I would also say that the flash player can cause all sort of issues, Personally I don't find it particularly stable.

And have you tried using another browser?
