Can my PC run crysis ?

4x980 min fps 63.37

Yay Kaap you can finaly say YES it will play Crysis. :D

On a side note I've just noticed in that benchmarking tool there is a checkbox for screenshot each frame :eek: seeing that it lists the minimum frame rate of 63.37 as being number 1965 that's an awful lot of screenshots it could generate. What a bizarre feature to have.:)

Impressive, I remember spending hours doing this over the years.

Who remembers stacking up red barrels in the editor, blowing them up, then sitting back and watching your system melt? :D

Eh......are you sure?
If that is the case it makes the benchmarking tool completely useless if it is not reporting the actual frame rate. :confused:

There's 2 time demo's in the benchmark tool

The first time demo is the one that kapp used, it's just a basic fly through with no AI, physics or anything particularly demanding going on. This produces system loads which are lighter then the actual game produces.

The second time demo is from a gameplay perceptive and has loads of explosions, physics, AI and a whole host of things happening. This time demo is a much more realistic representation of actual load the game will place on your system and because of is produces much more accurate frame rates.

did you do the 4k crysis 3 benchmarks kaap ?

was interested to see you 4x980s vs 290x 8gb matts cards at max settings .

yes but wanted to see if the 8gb cards of matts made any real difference at 4k over the 980s in crysis 3. it is afterall the ultimate graphics game.

kaap owns 4gb ones i think.

might be interesting to show the 980gtx bs 4gb/8gb ones. then you know if you just throwing away money on the extra 8gb ones.

there is a youtube video of the 4gb 290s doing 52 fps but at only 4x at x8 i think it would be 30-40fps.

think kaap said previously the 4 gb 980gtx did max settings at 48fps. if true it shows the 980gtxs even with 4gb are quite a bit better.

Ahh, you could be right on the vram count. Got c3 here but rarely play it now tbh. But iirc it's pretty ill on a pair of 780's.

I haven't checked every part of the game, but the most I could get it to use was about 3.5GB-ish with a brief try on welcome to the jungle.
Not sure 8GB would make much difference unless there are parts that use plenty more.

That was with VSR @3200x1800 btw.

Im still at 1920x1200 for the time being, cant just remember what vram c3 uses at that, (or what settings i had on) but it wasnt running that high an fps tbh. Theese cardsare a cheap stop gap until something better comes along, 900 series arent much of an improvement for me.

Found this from 2009, on my AMD Phenom II / Nvidia GTX 295 rig lol. :)

You can force higher resolution with commands Kapp in the box that says 'custom cvars', I get just over 100fps with 2x 970's and I'm still CPU bound with just 2 cards at 1440p.

r_width = *****
r_height = *****

Replace the ** with your resolution of choice.

Actual in-game minimum will be low to mid 40's.

This is definitely true :) the CPU usage was always poor, and in a few parts of the game the framerate dips to the 40s. No amount of GPU power you throw at it will help (I'm on SLI 780Tis overclocked and an i7 CPU at 4.5 by the way).

I'm replaying crysis at the mo with a few mods and maxed out, sweetfx tweaked it looks absolutely superb. One of my fav games ever and still looks better than most games out there now with some tweaking.
