**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Because I was going to upgrade to the Note 4, every Note has been slimmer, lighter and better in the hand up until the Note 4 and I didn't feel it lived up to the expectations I had for such a device so jumped over to something different instead this time round.

Maybe I will look at the S6 once announced or maybe the Z4, depends on what offers better value for the money. the Note 4 didn't offer value for money compared to the Note 3 which certainly did at release.

Agree with mrk here - still have my 14 month old Note 3 and yet to find something thats a convincing upgrade. May well change with the Z4 but for now (and most definitely at £270!) its the best phone for the money.

SD card certainly is, at least for me. Maybe Stylus is pushing it but it can be handy where applicable. No phone out on the market today will store my music library without an SD card slot. I do not and will not use cloud storage as it is rendered useless when you travel and aren't able to get stable data reception. Caching only a portion of your library for offline use is pointless. I want full access to my library in lossless format so I can enjoy the music on the IEMs I paid good money for. These modern flagship phones have excellent DACs and deserve to have quality source files played through them.

Better battery, design, feel in hand, performance, OS features, maybe even speaker (and I loved the Note 3 speaker). Given the choice, I would take the OPO over the Note 3.

Of course, a lot of this is personal preference, such as design and OS features.

Yeah SD card slot is a deal breaker for me too. I have a FLAC album and I'd rather just drag it all over instead of the hassle of having to convert everything like I do right now to AAC for itunes.

Coming from an Oppo Find 5 with a fixed battery, I can safely say that having removable ones makes a colossal difference on long journeys/business trips. I've just returned from Wales where I spent 2 days on business - my note 4 survived without a single charge being used constantly for voice recordings and camera shots. My Find 5 would have needed at least 2-3 if I'd have taken it. My Find 5 had great battery life when I first purchased it, then after a few months it nosedived and different roms made no difference - I just don't trust Oppo anymore.

I've hated Samsung plastic devices in the past as well as TW. On the Note4 you barely notice TW until you delve into settings and the performance and battery life is just insane.

So... in fact, it being removable made no difference?

Neither have good speakers.

The battery is about the same, the back of the (black) OPO is quite horrible I think.

The Note 4 screen is better than the OPO.

The OPO has better software.

I disagree, the OPO speaker is very loud for podcasts and voice calls.

I got better battery with the OPO than the Note 3. I didn't like the back of the OPO, but then got used to it. I prefer backs with a little grip.

Why is the Note 4 brought into it?

As I said, it's all down to personal choice these days with top end devices, there's so little between them.

The point being I'd have to charge it in the middle of the day and be conscious about my usage at all times. If I did somehow exhaust the Note4's battery, I could simply pop in my backup one and carry on.

Loud <> good.

Because this is the Note 4 thread...

True, I still say it's good though. Loud is part of why.

But the question was about the OnePlus One possibly being better than the Note 3. Throwing comparisons about the Note 4 is pointless to this question.
