Woooop, got pulled out of super cruise by some mean looking ship. I got him down to 70% hull. Then 2 police guys what ever turned up. Helped me take him down and I got 30k credits!
If you get fed up of them stealing your kill... Which happened a lot to me :D Turn off "Report crimes against me" on the right hand side panel.

Ah yes thanks. One more before I go, I thought being in the blue on throttle in SC was supposed to get you safely to your locked destination? I keep overshooting.
I find in the middle = never overshoot... But can stay at 100% until relatively close (say 300/500Ls depending on speed) then reduce to 50%. As get closer, 75% throttle.
Takes a bit of playing with but can usually get there pretty quick now.

My headset mic lost its "little puffy thing" on the end, And voice attack does not recognise a blind word I say. I may as well be drunk. Is it that sensitive or are there settings I can change for it?
Voice attack does have voice training you can re-run for a while.
Either that or stick a cotton wool bud on it :D

I broke my x55 Rhino yesterday, dropped it in water a few weeks back and it and it just wouldn't stop moving no matter what I do... Ended up getting in a rage and ripping the stick out of the base, now I need a new stick :(

I didn't get on with the x55, while it was an amazing stick it just seemed to stick and no matter what spring I had in it, it just didn't feel as good as the x52 pro.

Even easier is to to keep the ETA timer underneath the distance at 7 seconds. You can just about get away with 6 at a distance. Anything less than that is guaranteed overshoot.

That said, overshooting isn't bad. It gives you a very good idea if you're being followed, because if a ship behind you follows you into the 'overshoot loop of shame' expect an interdiction. ;)

Ok guys I have been following this thread for some time and iirc, posted once at the start.... Now a few questions..

I was an addict to Frontier:Elite 2 on the good old Amiga and found it amazing to play and not to difficult. How does this compare to that?

I have a MadCatz FLY 5 flight stick. Will this be any good to use with this game?

Is there a massive amount to do in this game? Iirc in Frontier there was escorts, assasinations, drops, moving stock and people. No PvP obviously.

Will I enjoy this game if I played Frontier to nearly Elite status,,,?:D

Spent a few happy hours last night in Open Play. Also disabled my primary monitor (only had the Rift active) and it made the whole thing seem smoother, particularly in stations and during hyperspace.

In the outlying systems I'm flying around, even in open play I didn't see a single player, proving that all complaints about backers having a head start were foundless- there's plenty of space for everyone.

Within about 20 minutes I found a profitable Food/Gold trade route too, so either the Economy has been fixed, or it wasn't as bad as people were making out.

Problem is, and this is really silly, the systems I'm in all have nondescript names, so I forgot the second system of my trade route- is there any log of the systems you've travelled to?

The overshoot loop of shame! Lol! I think I've yet to get anywhere without looping.

I have a Fly 5 and it's fine, obviously not as good as the £100+ sticks but more than capable, only just started playing so still getting used to it.

Nitram, check the bay. I ordered mine there last night.

Will do mate, cheers. Getting on slowly but surely with the 360 pad at the mo, man this game is deep. I am used to Planetside 2, so this will take some getting used to but I am an Astronomy buff so love the exploration aspect of it.

I was in open play last night and saw ship like mine but blue, it was called 'AME' i think, was that a human player? Is there proximity voice chat?

Day off work today so going to get stuck in to these tutorials.

Nah, getting more and more ****ed off with this I'm afraid.
I've just "saved and exit" after spending 20 minutes trying to dock at a space station.
I'm at landing pad "2" and i'm using the map to guide myself in - I'm perfectly positioned and all I do is hit the surface and bounce - no docking message.
So I fly off and approach again and the same thing over and over.

So damn frustrating as I was so looking forward to this. Cancelled my subscriptions to everything else and I'm finding my docking ration about 1 in 5.

Is your landing gear down?

I just found you need to be facing the right way and have landing gear down. Not finding it too bad with a 360 pad at the moment. Only done one piece of combat, but I was in my sidewinder and was a bit outmatched, so ran away!

I'm in my Eagle now and I've currently got a kill mission. I came across an unknown signal with three ships who told be that the guy was in the system. I take it I've just got to keep looking for new signals until I come across him?

Enjoying the game so far!

Not sure ive seen any log......I wish there was a table of the lastest price observed at a set station....you could download that data from the station you are in and would represent a snapshot of the prices at that time.....you could also have a info runner style gameplay attached to that where people make money selling the lastest trade data to haulers, of which downgrades in value as the data gets older......but its all a bit clunky, so I stick to Bounty Hunting and Pirating in Anarchy systems in my Eagle :)

First play last night. Had major issues understanding how the hell you get out of supercruise or hyper (whatever it's called) in the right place. Tried twice in the travel tutorial but it just crashed the games :(

I don't really see much going on. I managed to stumble across a few wanted people and shot them for the bounty. Got 50k credits so far.

Accepted a mission to assassinate someone for 150k credits, spent ages looking for him. Eventually found him. Scanned him, didn't deploy guns, he's an anaconda, few seconds later I see a blue light getting bigger and bigger. Boom, one shot destoryed...

Suspect it'll be shown on the galaxy map, one of the features few people bother looking into yet it's extremely useful once mastered.

They have trade information on there so it'd be a nice place to show where you'd been etc I'd love to be able to add notes to the systems.
