I think they do a 1gbit for about £80 a month but not way do i need that.

I think 100mbit should be standard now days.(someone else in the building must be hammering it now :))

Just run a speed test and got 11.5mbs DL and 1.5 ul. Have to say that I find this perfectly adequate, I stream quite a lot of films / TV shows using sky and they are buffered in seconds.

Sometimes I wish steam were faster but I think that is steam rather than my connection.

Been a while since I did ISDN, would have been a pri E1 line (T1 is a US standard) though. 32 x 64kbit channels and 1 x 16kbit. They could dynamically change between voice and data if needed and were pretty cool.

ISDN i assume you mean a bri, 1 x 16kbit and 2 x 64 kbit.

Been years since I done any of this so the above could be wrong.

Think ISDN was 1x64 and 2x128

But give me time for breakfast and I'll show you boys fast internet

More than happy with this... :)

BT Infinity Proper Unlimited too (I've hit 300Gb on a monthly basis working from home and never got a moaning email or letter!! :D )

its fast enough for my needs, mainly gets a workout when i'm downloading from steam but apart from that everyone in the house can do what they need/want to do at the same time.

that said, i do wish that what we have was a bit more stable. when its good its a solid 45 but there are times it'll just die down to 1 or alternately [not really the broadband itself] but the bt hubs habit of randomly kicking android devices off the network does get annoying [by which i mean the occasional interruption in watching yt videos]

BT Unlimited Infinity. Does the job I suppose, sometimes still struggles streaming Iplayer, but most downloads etc are very quick.

SpeedTest would normally report 5mb download and 0.9 upload. It is fine for the most part, but downloading games or uploading YouTube videos can be annoying because the download speed is more like 850kb/s on the likes of Steam. If you want to upload anything to YouTube you have to stop everything else and make about 200 cups of tea. The fibre rollout is meant to start here in March, considering I live in the main town in the area it is quite strange that most of the surrounding towns/villages had fibre enabled around 18 months ago. Hoping we'll be the first in the town to get it.

It's just annoying when other people are using the wifi and you're trying to play a game because you can see your ping rising the more they scroll down their Facebook wall. If I'm the sole person using the internet it's adequate though, no lag issues and to be fair I can't remember the last time when the internet dropped out.

Plusnet 80/20. Suits me just right. I'm the main user, wife uses a bit on movie streaming.

Only use about 100-150GB/m now.

Speeds are almost constant and the ping seems to drop a ms or two each month. Very, very happy with getting Fibre.

(Static IP puts me in London for somethings, Google Maps place me in Newcastle though.) :p

edit: Sky's Fibre Pro also have a dedicated team and when they phoned me following an email, it was someone who knew what they were talking about, and were in this country. Worth paying for this IMO. I just wish Sky would have people that useful throughout their customer services teams.

Got the 152MB BB from Virgin.

Could do with it being faster. I'm gaming, the daughter and son are both on youtube and the wife is surfing the net it can be a little slow.

this is the best i've honestly seen it. It usually hangs about 2.5mb/s

So the rest of you can go to hell with your super fast interwebs haha

40 down 2 up
(before September was 1.5 down 1 up)

Line can handle 65/40

I chose 40/2 as it was cheaper. I really don't need the up at all. Apart from uploading to Flickr I just don't need it.
40 is enough for anything. As there is just me and gf just don't need any more. As long as 1080p YouTube and iplayer are streamable that's all I need

Stuck on ADSL1 - fortunately I live about 200m from the exchange so get full 8Mb down and 832 Kbps up all day. BT haven't yet realised they've left me on ADSL max premium (usually you'd get 448 Kbps upload) which is very handy. Given there's only 515 residentials on my exchange I doubt it'll ever get an upgrade to fibre. All the exchanges around me have it though .

To be fair, I don't really need anything faster. I don't download enough to be too bothered.
