I've made the mount for the stowable console section:

Up:

Stowed:

Lots of filling, shaping and finishing to do yet.

Just to give an idea of using the mount with an iPad mini:

I've ordered some aluminium for use as a top plate for the peripheral attachment mechanism.

ref chair ! wow

super noob mode here - I see loads of targets when I go into supercruise mode - but then - all I can do is "follow" them - and their wake so to speak - how do I attack as in supercruise you can't and when out of supercruise I can't see any targets whatsoever ?

Making money trading in a Sidewinder is a haul, even with it stripped out for more cargo space.

Only need 56k for an actual Hauler but boy that's going to take a while. Guess I might have to go bounty hunting...without a joystick.

You need to fit an interdictor to drag them out of supercruise so you can attack them.

Cheers for the info halfmad and muttclug. Pretty certain it has 1gb of dedicated along with an i5 sandy and 8gig ram running at 900p so may be okay. Will probably risk it and get a nice upgrade in the next month or so.

I'm on a mission where I have to kill 3 traders in a system, it did not say about entering illegal activity. I cannot find any traders with a wanted status so am I supposed to shoot clean ones but then surely I'll get a bounty as I'm in Fed space? I presume trader are flying type 6 transports and type 9?

Im enjoying it a lot despite not making much money. I don't see the fun in using third party trader tools yet but in time I'l probably cave in. I have enough for a Hauler though, is it a decent crate to lug some cargo around? Do ship prices change depending on the system/stations economy type?

Managing to get a bit more cash now. I've travelled to an Empire controlled system and hang around near nav beacons. Lots of wandering wanted folk come through. Picked up a Viper now, with 2 x gimballed multicannons and 2 x gimballed burst lasers I've managed to take a few Anaconda's down, now that's a boost to the wallet! £50k-150k at a time :D

Thanks for the feedback on the CP-1. Looking forwards to getting this complete at some point. Still have the headrest, retractable pedal mechanism and the base to complete yet.

Put any thought into building your own stick/pedals/throttle?
Easier than it sounds (and you clearly already have the tools and abilities needed).

Takes 4 halls sensors (essentially a contact-less variable resistor/potentiometer using a magnet and a sensor that detects the direction of the magnetic field) to do full set and a <£10 Arduino pro micro to make it all work. Just a bit of effort/messing to find a suitable universal joint/ball joint to make the flight sticks pivot, after that it's pretty easy. 2 sensors for the stick, 1 each for pedal and throttle. You can make a multitude of hat switches placed where you like on stick/throttle and probably work out about the same cost/cheaper than buying.

Might not be quite the extreme you want to take it to but something that looked the part and could be slotted into the chair might be quite nice.

Link here to get you started.

The pedals I've not seen made but considering the way the halls sensor works I'd think I've got it licked pretty easily. You'd basically wrap a length of wire around a spindle, mount the magnet on the spindle and each end of the wire to your pedals so stepping on the pedal would pull the wire and rotate the spindle. Just needs a spring or weight to re-centre it when you let the pedal go.

Same here: not really interested in making it over-complicated with unreliable extras.

I'm enjoying my Hauler, "Old Girl". (I haven't found a way to actually name my ship in the game like you can in Oolite yet.)

She'll take sixteen tons at the moment, has no weapons or shields, is mainly used for exploration and trading, and has never failed to escape an interdiction.

Fuel scoop fitted for face-burning fun :)

I'm not sure on the prices fluctuating between systems, but I think they do.
